She caught a rodent!

of some sort!  She hopped up onto the counter a few times within the past
week or so.  That is a huge nono area and she is aware of that.  I thought
perhaps she wanted some coffee.  Anyways.  She jumped again and I heard her.
She wasn't prowling around and being a stinker.  Willow was in full alert
battle cat mode staring at a spot on the counter.  I moved the toaster...she
pounced and got something...I think it was either a baby mouse or a vole.  I
managed to get it from her mouth into a CoolWhip container and let it go
outside...where it will probably come right back in.

This is the second time in the 9.5 years that we have been together that she
has caught something.  The first time was on my birthday about 8 years ago.
I'm just glad she didn't present it to me.

Anyways, she is very proud of herself...I could tell by the way she was
walking with that little thing in her mouth...I'm proud of her and told her
so and gave her lots of pets...no kisses on the mouth though!

This also means she is probably on the mend and feeling better.  She's been
vomiting her food for quite some time.  I switched to more expensive brands
which helped for awhile, but finally took her to the vet again, and have
been giving her boiled chicken and rice until her other food comes in.

Hopefully, this post will show up.  Many of mine haven't shown up on my
server, although you all may be seeing them.

Hopefully Willow will be feeling better very soon and not vomiting.  Persia
is terrified of rodents.  She refused to go into the kitchen one morning;
just squeaked at me (I nearly tripped over her when she came to a screeching
halt).  There was a dead mouse on the floor.  She wouldn't go in there until
I removed it.

Haha!  That is so funny.

Willow usually just looks at mousies because they are too fast for her.  I
think it was a vole yesterday.  I originally thought it was an IBT
(Invisible Bad Thing), now technically know as a greeblings.

Well, hail the proud protector!!! I'm glad she is feeling better. I hope the
new food does the trick. Lucky you that she will eat chicken and rice!

You're lucky you could get it away from her. I'm not usually real
successful at that, though I try.

Hope she's doing better.

I usually hope that Stinky will do what he often does, and pop the
mouse into my shoe. ;)  I then can grab it, run to the door, and flip
the mouse out the door. ;)

Thanks...I really think she is.  She is asking for lots of belly rubs, which
she wasn't doing before.  Makes sense if her belly was bugging her.

I LOVE your sig, M~Elizabeth. And we currently have a mouse or
vole in our upper kitchen cabinet that keeps eating holes in the pasta
and bean bags. I will not set a death trap, and have not gotten around
to getting a little havahart. I wish one of my girls would get it if they
could just apprehend but not kill! It would have to be Cheeky as
Buddha is too fat to jump that high!

I like these traps a lot.  Mice and other little beasties really like peanut
butter if you get around to getting one of these traps.

I should get one this weekend. I just have to find the time to get out.

Thank you. Her name was Boo until she gained a lot of
weight. :)

Thank you!  I think she is on the mend.  We got her dry food on Friday
(after I started to drive off with it on the roof of my car).  She loves the
dry stuff and hasn't thrown up in 48 hours.

As for leaving the food on my roof.  I distinctly remember telling
myself..."Don't forget that you've left her food on the roof of the car.",
as I was putting the little man in his car seat.  I was distracted by a
Great Dane trying to get out the front door, when he was in the backseat, of
a small 4 door car.

The receptionist came running to tell me.

AND...Ms. Willow decided that she had enough of chicken and rice and opened
the bag up herself.
