What's your fave cat book?  I like The Cat Catalog (now out of print -
came out in the mid-70's) because I was given it as a gift when I was
19, by my ex-SIL - and it has really held a lot of sentiment for me
over the years. It contains fun discussion about history of cats and
practicies of various culturres pertaining to cats.   Peewee chewed the
corners off of it long ago, and between the pages I have some fur from
my beloved Pookie (RB). :)  It will remain close to my heart for years
to come, I think. :)

"All My Patients Are Under the Bed".  written by a 90-year old cat Vet
(now RB).  I forget the name and I gave my copy to my Vet.  MLB

Two:

The Unadulterated Cat by Terry Pratchett

and

Secrets of the Cat by Barbara Holland

The Pratchett book is a hilarious take-off of the type of book I'm sure we
all have, the 'How to choose and care for your cat' kind, with solemn
advice on feeding, vet care, etc.

The Holland book is sort of like a series of essays and anecdotes about
cats the author has knows, cat breeds, reproduction and history and other
odds and ends.

Some are just great and there are a few exceptional ones.  I think one
has to give a nod to Kliban and his "Cats", but one that I really
enjoyed was "The Silent Miaow"  by Paul Gallico.  It's  a mock-heroic
story detailing the history of a feral who finds and adopts a family
combined with advice from the older cat's point of view on how a young
cat making his (or her) way in the world should go about selecting a
family to care for him and how to properly train the hoomins to do his
bidding.

Naturally, these humorous remarks are all entirely my own opinion, based
solely
on rumor, supposition, innuendo and damned lies, and should be
interpreted in a
spirit of fun.  My memory is faulty, also.
