Well, I made the aforementioned AHA recipe, honey-roasted chicken, for dinner.
We used regular teriyaki because we couldn't find low-sodium stuff in the
store.  (I know you can make it yourself, but I wasn't all that concerned.)
Chicken was yummy.  DH prepared some understated green beans that were also
yummy.

After dinner, of which I ate too much, I noticed two bananas that were way
past the eating stage.  I "had" to make a frothy banana, milk, and cocoa
powder drink.  Fortunately, we only have 1% milk.

And I tried a molasses cornbread recipe ... so of *course* I had to try a
piece, just to make sure it was all right.  I did make it with lowfat
buttermilk, so maybe that's a little bit better.

Yeah, today was kind of a failure in the "eating light" department ... even
before I consider the three slices of Papa John's hawaiian pizza and the
breadstick at lunch ....

And I wonder why I have trouble losing weight.  *laugh*  Yummy, though.

Sounds pretty yummy.  Have you ever participated in rec.food.cooking?
You might like it there - lots of good folk and good ideas.

Just be prepared for flames and a lot of nasty comments about any OT (non
food) posts.  They aren't nearly as tolerant of OT over there and while some
of us are good folks, there are some jerks.  Oh, and take Sheldon with a
tablespoon ful of salt.  Underneath the frequent nasty remarks he's actually
a nice guy - with 5 cats!

Hrmm.  While it sounds interesting, I already have too many discussion groups
to track, and I'm an extremely novice cook; there are a lot of recipes I skip
over because I'm not sure what to do.  Also, when I cook I try to make it low
fat, which I've found does not describe most recipes, especially people's
favorites.

Food seems to be a major subtopic in this group; if my postings about it are
getting to be too frequent, though, I'll reign myself in.

Well we are living with CATS and food is the most important part of
their day, along with sleep and play.  Cats have it kicked....

IME, any recipe can be converted to low-fat or lower-fat.  Even
alfredo. ;)

I don't think that's an issue - you just seem to be a "foodie" and I
thought you would like it. :)

I really should post my favorite set of instructions in a recipe, from
Escoffier. IIRC, it's for Potatoes Daupbinoise: "Take a sufficient
quantity of potatoes and cook until done". Further steps followed.

If we post recipes here in response to trolls, what do they do on
rec.food.cooking to get rid of trolls? Post cat stories? :o)

Donna, just wondering ;o)

LOL the usual response is someone will respond calling them a troll; someone
will reply to that saying please don't feed the trolls; someone else will
reply saying you just fed the troll by replying to the reply to the troll.
(sigh)
