Kitty Kong - new toy

I had to stop at TEDs today to pick up some CD cans for Fizz and saw
that they had a Kitty Kong toy (which I bought).  It looks just like a
dog Kong, but much smaller, like a stubby thumb, and has a soft plastic
set of whiskers wrapped around one of the narrower lumps, which makes it
look like a mouse.  It comes with two scratch-n-snif paper mouses that
are catnipped scented. You rub one and stuff it into the hollow part of
the Kong and, well, you can imagine. (Apparently one can rub each mouse
multiple times.)

Mithu is enjoying it immensely, although I don't think the scratch and
sniff concept (i.e. artificial scent) really works with my cats. It's
light enough to bat around, but irregularly shaped, so unpredictable as
to trajectory.

Fizz hasn't shown any interest in it, but he's not much for toys larger
than twist-ties or ends of string.  Pippin hasn't seen it yet. Catherine
likes it too, or rather, likes dropping it in front of Mithu.

I also picked up a Kong kitty brush at the grocery store a week ago. It
has large rubber cone-shaped "teeth", and is very effective at removing
yak-sized balls of fur from my felines. The one drawback is that it is
not especially effective at collecting said yak-sized balls of fur
(YSBoF) IN the brush. Still, Mithu and Pippin like it, and YSBoF on the
carpet in dry form beats up-chucked YSBoF anyday.

Cheers

It sounds like Catherine has taken a liking to Mithu. :)  I wonder if
you can get a picture of Fizz and Catherine together.  Those two
exhibit a lot of purrsonality on film.

Actually, Catherine and Fizz seem to be developing a bit of a rivalry,
at least when it comes to lap time with Mommy. Fizz has lately tolerated
a few pats from her, but generally is a bit of a grumpy sour-puss in
reaction to her attempts to make contact.
Still, if a photo op presents itself, I'll do my best to get it!

Time will conquer. I kept telling my friend her hissy fitty cat would
eventually like her daughter very well. Now that she is almost four, the cat
now goes in and sleeps with her daughter and lets her pet her. They just
wait for the "unpredictable" phase to pass.

This sounds like a toy that the kittens would like! The like "found
food". Thanks for the "review". :)

Dang, Suz, that's a lot of snow! I knew it was bad up there, but
hadn't thought about how much. My cousins on the cape keep
complaining about getting socked in.

Yes, the Cape and South shore have been even worse. Last week they had
snow almost every day.
I'm a bit NW of Boston.
