As I was catching up on rpca - apologies for the prolonged absence but
I have done penance and lit candles when appropriate, two on Friday :-(
- Beast announced his hunger and, giving him his liver*, here's an
update.
Despite his various ailments he trundles on, occasionally off his feed
for a day or two or, worse, disappearing. He's down to near 6 lbs but
aside from some instability he's getting around OK. He's not wandering
outside the yard anymore - with his bad eyes and ears he is constantly
surprised/scared by any motion not in front of him. He doesn't play
anymore either but grateful for attention and purrs by my side each
night.
From the first when Quinn showed up he has doted on the Beast, his head-
butts nearly knocking Beastie over but no exception taken and they often
sleep together:

I miss the binaroes group, I have to use individual.net until I get back
to Pennsylvania - next winter I suppose I'll search out a new server.
Purrs for those in need, Norm (* no chianti and fava beans tho)

Norm, isn't Quinn the kitty you posted photos of stretched out
between two bar stools? I saved his before and after pics, they are so
stunning. How long have you had Beastie?

Beastie came with the south Tampa house I moved into at end of July
1987.
He was full grown then so I give him the proverbial year-old, making
him maybe 19 this summer. Of course, being the contrary beast he's
always
been, he's outlived beloved Max. Yes, that's one and the same Quinn ...
the only. He's still almost as playful as when he learned to play, heh.

I wanted to mention that you can use this free news server to view
binary groups:
dp.news-maxwell.syr.edu
You cannot post from that account, but if you just add the line above as
a new news server account, you may then download and view binaries
groups there. I have used it for years and it is very reliable. I like
alt.binaries.pictures.animals.
There are other free news servers you may use to view and perhaps to
post to binaries groups. Anyone who needs one just let me know.

Purrs for Beastie to have a peaceful, contented rest-of-his-life
beside his devoted slave and buddy Quinn.

Lovely picture. Buddy sleeping is so sweet. Purrs for Beastie to
continue for a long time.

Yes, love it when cats are buddies, not really since the Siamese have
mine - wait, no, when Franz joined the household he had a real letch
for Beast, would follow him around and Beast would run, hissing.
It so was comic, like, "Yoo hoo! Sailor! Seafood! Wait for me".
Norm (eventually Beastie got to the point of letting Franz be close)
