Poor underprivileged Sammy just doesn't have any toys to play with, so she
was forced to overturn her water dishes three nights in a row (thoroughly
soaking my carpet), just to have something to play with! What a mean
meowmie I am to not give her any toys to play with!!!

Poor, neglected Sammy! More seriously, Holly loves to play with water. She
used to empty a water bowl in matter of minutes by scooping it with her
front paws. A heavy bowl didn't help because she didn't need to turn the
bowl over to do her damage. I finally solved that by placing her water bowl
in one of those plastic bins that is intended for vegetables (the type with
3 higher sides and one low side cut down to just a couple of inches above
the ground). That way, any spilled water would be caught in the plastic bin
and not by the carpeting. Actually, she stopped playing with water in her
water bowl some time after that (but still loves to play with water from a
faucet), so now I can also have water bowls that are not "Hollyized." You
might want to try something like that for your neglected girl.

Ha! Poor little thing -- maybe she has too many toys and none of them seem
new anymore? You might try putting them away for awhile, except for a
couple and see if they're more interesting when you bring them out again --
what I was told re my kids when they were little.

Hmm, with regard to Sammy, "Wittle" is just not the adjective that
first leaps to my mind. ;)

Awww! Poor "wittle" Sammy! I've taken to putting up some of Persia's toys
and doling them out slowly. Of course, I don't have other cats to deal
with.

Looks like you just cleaned under the couch! Or are there more that
are hidden?

Oh there are tons more under things. When I was doing my yoga, the pose
where I stand with legs spread and put my head down on the floor I was
facing the sofa and saw about 20 or 30 plastic water bottle caps!! LOL

Hello, ASPCA?? This woman's *bragging* about how cruelly she mistreats
her mega-kitten.

I LOVE your cat condo thingy in the first picture! My cats would love
something like that! Did you make it or buy it?

My daughter and SIL - great carpenters - made it for me. They said making
it was the easy part, the hard part was getting it from New Orleans to
Houston in their Surburban!

LOL...she sounds like a certain hairless "kitten" I know *very* well,
who is completely fascinated with the garbage disposal button and my
vertical blinds! ;)
Cute piccies, BTW....

LMHO! Poor Sammy, having lost interest in such an abundance of toys. And
poor you, having to clean up after overturned water bowls.
I've seen bowls built like these, in some pet catalogs:
http://www.canvasbackpets.com/ShopSite/product1175.html
http://www.canvasbackpets.com/ShopSite/product540.html
They have an opening that's a lot narrower than the bowl itself, so if the
bowl is overturned the water can't spill out. It might be worth a try, if
Sammy doesn't lose interest in playing "upend the water bowl".

Nope, you definitely don't have enough toys. ;) Rhett is a water-
bowl-upender too. I had to start putting water in heavy casserole
dishes. Now he doesn't turn them over, but he and Scarlett like to
scoop the water out and shake their wet paws all over the place.
I've seen them empty the dish in a matter of minutes this way.
