Persia likes to have her belly rubbed.  Well, let me rephrase that - her
upper chest rubbed.  But I've noticed lately if I rub right under her "arms"
she jerks and holds them closer to her body as if to say, "Stop that!"  She
doesn't swat at me or move away, it's more of a reaction as if someone
touches a tickly spot on a human; sort of a flinch.  Are cats ticklish?

I used to have a handle on life...but it broke off.

"jmcquown" <jmcquown@bellsouth.net> had some very interesting things
to say about Ticklish?:

Possibly. Felix doesn't mind my handling his front paws (he tends to
lick my hand when I do) and loves tummy rubs (including under his
"arms"), but *hates* it when I play with his back paws (if grabbing my
hand with a front paw doesn't get me to quit it, he'll swat or even
bite).

Both of my cats do the exact same thing!  Peewee is really ticklish
between his toes - he will give me a good swat if I keep it up too
long.  Mimi just loves to be touched anywhere - ticklish or not. :)

I don't know about ticklish, but Stink certainly has a spot on his
side that makes him jerk or jump when it's touched.

Two of mine are, two aren't.

Aha, you found Persia's "boop" spot! :o) If anyone has a cat that appears
to display boop immunity, maybe that's a good spot to try applying a boop.
;o)

Donna, Captain (whose boop spot is his nose) and Stanley (who seems to be
boopable all over)

I've tried this before with Betty, and I don't get a reaction.  I say,
"Tickle tickle tickle", and slip my finger under her elbows or poke
her ribs, but she just sits there and purrs. :)
