We're sending lots of purrs out for everyone in need, for any reason
whatsoever.
I have 4427 messages to catch up on...I'll probably just skim through
the new topics then start fresh.  Otherwise I'll never catch up :)

We moved on the 13th and the DSL was supposed to be active on the 16th.
After calling for two days to find out why it wasn't working SBC
finally figured out that they were trying to activate it on our old
*disconnected* number.  The same number that *they* disconnected on the
14th!!!!

Don't you love DSL? Especially for photos.

Can you say DUH?!?!?!?!?

We had a problem last summer with SBC.  We kept getting long distance
charges on our phone bill for calls that we *did not* make.  We don't have
doctors in Indianapolis.  We don't know anyone named "Kyle" in
Ellettesville.  We don't even have a long distance carrier.  If we call long
distance, we use our cell phones (since we have 100 prepaid minutes, and
nights & weekends are free, and they don't have LD charges, it's *much*
cheaper to use cell phone for LD calls).  DH would call me at home on my
cell phone, and aske me if I'd been on the phone (land-line).  I'd pick it
up and there'd be people carrying on a conversation.  Kept calling and
bitching to SBC.  They kept 'testing' the line & saying nothing was wrong.
We kept bitching.  They said that they would send a tech out to check the
lines.  Nobody showed.  We called again - they said that nobody was home.
We called them liars, I was home *all day* - an easy task since I am a 'home
maker'. We unplugged all cordless phones, using only corded (in case someone
with some radio was tapping into the cordless frequency).  Still got people
on our line. Decided to leave the phone off the hook unless *we* were using
it.  Told all friends/relatives that if they needed to call us, to call on
our cell phones.  After about a week, they sent someone out to check the
local junction box, because aparently the *other* person whose line was
crossed with ours had bitched at them too.

The best thing is that they sent the guy out on a Saturday evening (I bet
they paid buku bucks in overtime) and it was during one of the heaviest
rainstorms of the season, and the junction box is *not* in a 'protected'
environment.

All LD charges were dropped from our bill(s) and we were given credit for
ones that we had inadvertantly paid.

Glad to see you posting. Purrs that the DSL works from now on.
