I'm sitting with Nikki in my lap, and I'm scritching her ears. She is
really leaning into the scritches. Suddenly, the back of my hand starts
itching, and I have to stop scritching Nikki and scratch the back of my
hand. A good long while. I look down. Nikki is looking at me with her
huge unhappy eyes, her whiskers are drooping and I can almost see her
little chin quavering. The message is clear: 'how can you be so selfish
as to scritch yourself when you're supposed to scritch *me*?'

Awww! I love that mental picture - reminds me of "Puss-in-boots" from the
Shrek 2 movie!

I saw that movie for the first time this weekend. That cat has GOT to
be THE coolest character ever invented! He's FANTASTIC!

LMHO! Kitties don't realize that sometimes humans need a scritch, too.
Poor Nikki! I trust you gave her a bunch of extra scritchies to make up
for the lapse? ;o)

Perhaps had you placed your hand within reach she would have skritched
it, or at least have given it a few licks with her tongue.
