Speaking of cat dreams...

...Every time I have a dream with a cat in it, it isn't either of mine.
I always dream about small, helpless kittens needing resuce -
sometimes in the perils of nearly being eaten by a snake (I have snakes
at home) or wandering into traffic, etc.  There is always a bunch of
them, and they are a myriad of colors.    I wonder why I never dream of
my own cats - I dream of my own dogs often.  I also never dream of my
own baby - if I have a dream with a baby in it, it is a different baby
that belongs to me in the dream.  Weird.

I've had dreams about my cats, foster/shelter cats, and cats I don't know.
The ones of cats in danger are usually my own or cats I know. I've also had
dreams about babies, but there's always something odd about them that I
don't realize at first.  One time (and this was way before I was pg) I gave
birth to a loaf of bread.  I didn't know it was a loaf of bread, and was
treating it just like a baby.

Now that is funny!!!  Producing your own food  -- you must have been
hungry.   MLB

LOL...come to think of it, when I was in treatment for infertility, I

Reminds me of a friend of mine, who had the pregnancy from Hell and
spent most of it wishing she'd just had another kitten instead. The
day after the birth, the midwife was showing her how to change a nappy
and when she smelt the contents of her first nappy, she had one
question, which must have made the midwife worry:

"How long will it take for me to housetrain her?"

Oh, I'll take newborn poop to cat poop any day. ;) It's when they turn
1 and start eating things like cheese and corn that it gets fun.
Luckily DS is having *major* interest in the "big potty chair"
already...

Sometimes when I'm feeling silly (and maybe after a drink or two) I
stuff Vino under my shirt and then pull him out.  I'll hold him like a
baby and announce to Dennis: "Look, I've just had a baby!  And what a
fine furry specimen he is!  A 12 lb bundle of purry joy, I couldn't be
more proud!".  Dennis will usually respond by telling me to never,
*never*, do that when we have guests over ;-)

I often dream about my cats, and they're seldom bad dreams. We just do
fun stuff together. One that has stuck in my mind was the one where Vino
came to visit us! And I thought in the dream, 'wow, he came all the way
from Thailand to visit.'

Of course he did!  He came on The Good Ship Mouser, don't you
remember? ;-)

All right, Britta, you owe me a keyboard. Or maybe Dennis is the one who
owes me the keyboard since his comment is the one that caused coke to spew.

Julie (and Barnabus who was asleep beside me and is now trying to clean
coke out of his ears)

I had the same reaction, although apparently less violently.  What is it with
husbands just not quite "getting" our quirkier moments?  I think DH is
perpetually afraid I'm going to do something over the top ... which just makes
it that much more fun to do so!

One of the reason I married my husband is that he laughs at and
appears to enjoy my sillier side. I HAVE to play. Everyday. I
play with language a lot. It's a stress reliever.

My husband is silly, but in a different (and typically less public) way than I
am.  Ah well, such is life.  He does crack me up, especially when he dances
with Oscar.

Aren't dreams strange?  I've got a website (not mine, just one I've
found) that tries to explain the imagery of dreams.  What it says about
dreaming of cats:

To see a cat in your dream, signifies much misfortune, treachery, and
bad luck.

*****However, for the cat lover, cats signifies an independent spirit,
feminine sexuality, creativity, and power. If the cat is aggressive,
then it suggests that you are having problems with the feminine aspect
of yourself.  If you see a cat with no tail, then it signifies a lost
of independence and lack of autonomy.

To dream that a cat is biting you, symbolizes the devouring female.
Perhaps you are taking and taking without giving. You may be expressing
some fear or frustration especially when something is not going as
planned.

To see a black cat in your dream, indicates that you are experiencing
some fear in using your psychic abilities and believing in your
intuition. You may erroneously associate the black cat with evil,
destruction, and bad luck. If you see a white cat, then it denotes
difficult times.

To dream that a cat killed a spider, suggests that you are expressing
your femininity in a seductive and cunning manner rather than in an
overtly and almost destructive way.

The website can be found at:

http://www.dreammoods.com/

I generally go into the second column, since that one lets you look up
the imagery, and interpret for yourself.  The whole site is kind of
interesting to me anyway, but...

You probably cannot bear to think of your cats or of Jonathan being in that
situation. The rest is probably anxiety.

Is it a "cat dream" if you dream you went to a restaurant and all they had
on the menu was whole fried fish, heads and tails intact? <G>

It depends.  Do the other diners have long whiskers and pointed ears?

A house is not a home, without a cat.

I've had lots of dreams about my own -- some of them awful, but a lot
of them are just me trying to round them up because they've gotten out
somehow.  I've figured out that this recurring dream usually means I'm
feeling overwhelmed!  lol!

The weirdest cat dream I ever had was that the world was coming to an
end.  Basically, we were all going to die.  So what was I doing?
Running around and trying to rescue all the stray cats.  Go figure!
