Terrible Dream

Hi there:

I'm glad its daytime and my dream wasn't real.

Lastnight I dreamed that it was lastnight, except that my mom had dropped by
for a visit and accidentally let Chester out.  I didn't know that she'd done
that and was surprised to see Chester at the back door.  I was horrified
because it was past dark and the boys have to be in before dinner.

When he came in, his back end was drooping and wobbling from side to side
and he was all chewed up around the ears and neck.  He'd had some kind of
terrible mauling.

In the dream, I stuck him in the kennel to take him to TED and TED's
receptionist said that I couldn't just *drop* by because they had scheduled
visits and what kind of presumptuous person was I?

Various difficulties later, the dream changed tack but I still woke up
horrified that Chester was so hurt.

In fact, his fluffiness was just up in front of the monitor giving
headbutts, thank goodness!

Dreams can be so awful.

I hate bad dreams, but I have a lot of them.  Last night I dreamt that the
Queen was dead, had been blown up in her car when she was going somewhere.
I woke up immediately from the shock of it and couldn't get back to sleep.

Oh dear.  That would be very distressing, particularly given what happened
to the former Princess Diana.

Dreams can often be worrisome as can be.  I'm glad Chester is fine and it
was just a bad dream.

I would love to read more on interpretting dreams. I know they are
cryptic, but that's all I know. Glad it was a dream Susan.

I've read that dreams are the mind trying to work something out, or trying
to tell you something.  When you have a recurrent dream, that means you
haven't solved the problem yet.  I'm like, can you tell me in a more
coherrent way, mind??  Different objects/actions have meanings, but I'm not
sure how much I believe the standard meanings.
The dream I had about Toffee last week was so disturbing, but it probably
had nothing to do with her, it was some type of fear being played out.
Don't know what though.

Seriously!! I don't often remember my dreams, but I do remember the
really bad ones, and very vividly. For days sometimes, before they
start to fade.

It sounded scary! Of course, your condition might have something to
do with dreams. Hope that one doesn't come back!

I think that interpreting dreams is fun, and kind of strange as well.
There are a ton of websites about dream interpretation.  My favorite
is:

http://www.dreammoods.com/

I usually go for the Dreams & Symbols column, and click on the A to Z
Dream Dictionary.  Sometimes, it seems to be hogwash, but other times
it seems to make sense.

Smokie Darling (Annie)<<I have no affilitation with that website, I
just like to use it sometimes.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. :)

That's a scary one! I've had dreams like that before, I wake up with
cold sweat... then snuggle up a kitty and it's all better!

That is an awful dream and probably would be anyone's nightmare on this
group!  I'm sure your kitties got extra scritches from meowmie after this.

{{{{Susan}}}} Sounds like a horrible night. I'm glad you woke up and
found it was just a dream. I hate dreams like that. Scritches to Chester
and Otis as well.

How horrible!  Just grab Chester tight and give him a big hug.

I have lots of bad dreams too Ginger-lyn and lots that get repeated ...  or
at least the feeling surrounding them, the atmosphere, and the themes are
similar.  Lots of driving up steep hills that keep getting steeper, driving
so fast that I can't make corners (with my kids in the car), murder mystery
scary ones (where I find out who did something terrible and then there is a
cat and mouse chase - fodder for novels some of them), and the performance
dreams!

One of the funniest bus rides I had was with the orchestra where we all
talked about our performance dreams.  I always dream that I find myself at
the hall with the orchestra warming up only to discover that I'm supposed to
play a Mozart horn concerto ... but I haven't practiced in three months.
There's also the variation where I'm wearing old brown clothes instead of
black, where I go back to music school to do a Master's degree but I haven't
played in five years and I'm trying to hide it from my teacher, and on and
on and on.  Everybody in the orchestra had some variation - some were naked
on stage, some couldn't get into the locked hall ...

Then there have been the few occasions where there's been flying dreams or
skiing dreams in deep dreamy powder.  Few and far between those ones!

What kind of bad dreams do you guys have?
