I just thought I would tell you about the newest (at least I had not seen
her before) clinic cat "Oscar". Why so named? You guessed it. SHe is
chronically grouchy. Follows you everywhere swearing at you and is a swiper.
She is liiiitttle. Maybe 4 or 5 pounds, full grown. long white hair that has
brown and black splothces and with a persian pushed in face (and seems to
have an eye problem). But she is SO funny! Wants to love but will kind of
bite at you (not bad, just snippy). Today when I took Grant in I was
standing at the counter with him talking to the vet tech and I felt this
bapbapbapbapbapbapbapbapbappitybap on my pant leg. I looked down to realize
I had been severly scolded. Oscar had come out and was not happy that I
didn't notice. Or else not happy it was morning. Or maybe I was standing
wrong. I hope someone who likes a perpetually grouchy cat comes along and
takes her in. She's just awful cute.

If she's anything like my little Mimi (RB)-- and she sounds like she
is-- she probably has highly developed cutie-pie skills she can whip
out at a moment's notice if she feels it necessary.  Tiny grouchy cats
can be so funny. ;)

Can you get us a picture?

Hmmm. I'll see. SHe might rip my face off, but I could pack my digital with
when I go pick up Grant and take her piccie.

Last night I was sitting in the Sun Room and I picked up a small hand held
calculator.  This calculator has a music switch which will play two
different tunes.  TuTu has never liked it, so it has been months since I
have tried it.  I turned it on to see if it still worked.  In about a
minute, here came TuTu with a determined walk.  She jumped to my lap and
bit my hand.  ("Turn that off you idiot").  MLB

Hah! That is what Pearl does when I sing or play guitar!

back when I used to play the organ, Princess (RB) used to sit by the organ
with her eyes closed and seemed to love the music.  If I turned the organ
to "strings" she would say "I don't like that", turn and leave.  MLB

My long-ago boy Spot would get very excited when I whistled. He had
favorite tunes, such as Mary Had a Little Lamb, & Jingle Bells. He
would come if I whistled.

One day I lay on my back in bed & started whistling. He ran in the
room, ran up my body, & bit me on the lips, then turned & ran out.

Everyone's a critic... when I sing to Jake as he lies in my lap, he
looks at me in a pitying way and lays a paw gently across my lips.
"Please stop; you're embarrassing yourself" is how I think that translates.

I sit on the toilet & hold Daisy & sing her the "Daisy, Daisy" song.
She likes it b/c it has her name.

Nina, I'm a proofreader, too.

I'm in PA, between Philly & Harrisburg. I work for a
publisher/commercial printer. We publish supplemental textbooks, & do
printing of all kinds.

So you get a variety of things to proofread -- just what I like!  I have
my own business, with my office at home (so handy for the masters to
order me around), and do everything from business cards to textbooks,
mainly for advertising and marketing agencies.

Stinky lervs whistling.  He gets all cuddly and lovey.  Have no idea
what that's all about.

Now *that* was Henri RB when he was a tiny kitten I was whistling
one morning as I got dressed,   he came running into the bedroom and was all
over me like a rash, the next day in the garden I whistled again while I sat
on the step watching him play, and it happened again, after that I knew how
to get him whenever I wanted him, in the last few years of his life, he
could be way down the street but when I whistled a special call he would
come running,I saw this one day when I whistled from the end of the drive,
he looked so funny ,really hurrying along at a little jog trot, like
'Mamma's calling
better hurry,' I just loved that cat to death,I still miss him sorely.

Mimi used to take her tiny little paw, seemingly make it into a little
fist, and go POKE POKE with it, in complete YOU'RE NOT LISTENING mode.
Her paw was amazingly hard. ;)

ROFL! Nikki just touches my bare leg with her cold, wet nose to get my
attention. Eeeek!

My sister's name for that technique is a "snail trail".

Hee hee! Purrs to wee Oscar the Second. I hope that someone adopts her who
spoils her as completely as Oscar the First is being pampered. :o)

Donna, Captain, and Stanley (both of whom know a bit about being pampered,
themselves ;o) )

Her personality sounds like a perfect match to my Oscar.  Maybe they're
long-lost relatives =p
