A few years ago, I (mistakenly) bought a white cloth sofa. A nice piece
of furniture. I spent MONTHS shopping for a sofa ... all over the
southern third of Florida, it felt, NOTHING made me go 'WOW, THAQT'S
IT'. Then one evening I walked into a Sears Homelife store and THERE IT
WAS, right inside the door.

It took a couple of days to be delivered, but as soon as it was put on
the floor, Cosmo claimed it as his own. He even has his own special
spot on one end that, if you are sitting there and HE wants to relax,
he will tap you with his paw and give you THAT look. And he looks so
HURT when one of the other kids are in his spot.

Now I don't call it a WHITE sofa, but 'Cosmo Gray'. NEVER buy a white
cloth couch when cats are sharing their space with you.

Then about five years ago, I bought a 19 inch monitor for my Mac. A big
heavy thing in a HUGE box. I backed the car up to the door, carried the
box in, and the VERY SECOND I put the box on the floor (and I mean even
BEFORE the box touched the floor), Cosmo jumped on top of it and
claimed that too, as his own.

I admit, it's not a very attractive piece of furniture, yet STILL,
there it sits, at the front window, half caved in from his weight
(layer after layer of clear shipping tape attempting to hold it
together). I for some reason, just can't get rid of it.

I have a half caved in box in the closet that the cats LOVE. They sleep so
hard on it, they don't even wake up for meals sometimes!

The big, sturdy box that my new office chair came in is still sitting in
front of the bay window.  I laid a bathmat over it to disguise it a
little, but it's still just a huge, sagging-in-the-middle box... with at
least one cat lolling on it at all times.
