Is there something bigger than a King-size bed?

We need one. A king-sized mattress is not enough for the two of us and
the cats! Although for some reason, Tom is not completely surrounded by
felines like I am. Consider this: Luna and Fez on my left (on top of the
covers), Rufous, Maya and Issa on my right (ditto), and Basho between my
legs (under the comforter, but above the sheets). I can't move! All
night long!
We need a bigger bed.

Sounds to me like your bed could be twice as big and the cats still wouldn't
give you any room.  Besides if you had more room you would just want more
cats right?

I find turning over at night a major project and usually only have to adjust
one cat to do it.

Have you considered simply laying out blankets on the floor and sleeping
there?

They'd just expand to fill the extra space. ;)

A bigger bed won't do it.  The amount of space you're allowed to have on the
bed is not proportional to how big the bed is but is inversely proportional
to how good a slave you are!  ;>

You poor sweet man!  Haven't you found out yet that the cats will take
up all the room you don't use for lying down yourself?  All the space
that isn't taken up by your body belongs to the  cats!  A bed twice
the size will afford you no more room than you have now.

Actually, the cats lay claim to all of the space, including that
occupied by their humans, which is why they frequently end up sleeping
on top of their humans, in order to remind the humans whose bed it
really is...

Good luck Victor, you haven't got a chance! The size of the bed is
inversely proportional to the amount that the cats steal!

I have a very nice double bed that I usually share with only Tiger. He
gets 3/4 and I'm lucky to get the duvet!

Pharaoh-sized? ;-)

Personally I think bunk beds are the answer, let the cats choose which
bunk they want (my guess is they'll take the top one) and you and Tom
sleep in the other. Do they make king-sized bunk beds.....? Now there's
a marketing opportunity! ;-))

Or, how about just filling a whole room with one giant, enormous
wall-to-wall bed? ! Then no-one can fall out (or be pushed).

< We need a bigger bed. >

Hi Victor!

I know about not being able to move at night! Last week, I woke up to find I
was pinned.  I had Amanda on my head, Sasquatch on my chest, Kieri on my
right arm, Tobi on my left arm, Boyce at my left knee, Cougar on my shins,
Kelsie at my right knee. Bear was at my feet, along with my dog Jasper. My
hubby only had 2 cats, Widu and Marble. All this in a queen size bed! (BTW,
I have 17 indoor cats.) I asked them "do you mind if I get up?" and they
obliged by getting off. Bunk beds? I think I AM the top bunk! <G>

Good day sir,

We at Acme Mattresses have just the model for you.  We call it the Cat
Owner's Basketball Court Special! The mattress costs a great deal we admit,
but that is because it is the size of half a basketball court, and a special
bedroom must be built AROUND it, as the bed is far too large to fit through
any doorway. You will also need to buy our special brand of sheets.  It was
designed for people who breed or collect cats, and no matter how many cats
you have, you and your partner are guaranteed to NEVER feel  overcrowded
while sleeping in the Basketball Court  Special.  Unless of course, your
cats have other ideas.

;o)

There's only Soncek sleeping (usually on top of me) in my (sorry, his!) bed
and I still can't move, so a bigger bed would be no help at all!
Best wishes,

I'm sure there's a law of cat physics which says cats will expand to
fill the space available. ;-)

That would be the Schrodinger's cat's revenge.

My cat is definitely _not_ capable of quantum tunneling; about half an
hour after I got home last night, I started noticing plaintive meows.
I called to the cat, but she didn't respond.  When I finally got up
and checked, I found that, once again, she had darted into the hall
closet when I put my coat in it, and had been trapped there when I
shut the door.  Although this is a one-cat household, she keeps
wanting to check whether any other cats have visited this closet since
last time the door was open.

I once accidentally shut my Arthur in the cupboard where I kept the cat
food. Never heard a single meow out of him, and he was in there for a
good few hours. When I opened the door all that was left were the
well-torn remnants of a bag of kibble, and Arthur rolled out like a big
black bowling bowl.
