My sister phoned yesterday to tell me that her 12 year old Burmese went to
the bridge that morning, he had been unwell for a couple of weeks with an
undiagnosed complaint, had lost a lot of weight, wasn't eating or drinking,
he is the youngest of her 3 cats the other 2 are almost 15 years old and 14
years old. She was understandably distressed.

To make matters worse (if they can get any worse) her husband is dying of
spinal cancer, he is aged 64yrs and my sister (Sue) has suspected bowel
cancer, she goes to see the specialist today.

Could I please ask for a few purrs to get them over this bad patch.

Thanks
Lois

So sorry to hear this. :o(

Purr-ayers and purrs are on the way to comfort her in her loss, as well
as for her and her husband's health.

If it's any consolation, Vinnie's symptoms sound exactly like what
ailed Harmony (RB at 14.5 years old) during her final weeks of life.
Multiple trips to the vet during that time were not able to pinpoint a
cause nor resolve her condition. Sometimes the best efforts we humans
can come up with are simply not enough to cure every ailment. So I hope
that she's able to remember the all the good times with Vinnie, and
console herself with the fact that she did all she could for him. And
the fact that he's young and healthy now, and will meet her again
someday.

Deep purrs to your family.  Strength, so that you can be strong for
your sister.

A story.  My friend Charlene was dying.  A diabetic infection had taken
over her body and the docs couldn't beat it. A little cat showed up at
the door one day and he and Char fell in love.  He scarcly left her
side, sleeping on her hospital bed and allowing all the tears and hugs.
About a month later Charlene went into a coma and was rushed to the
hospital but passed in the amulance without regaining consciousness.
Two days later the kitty passed in her sleep.  Just like that.  No
warning.  We think of him as the angel-kitty sent to help Charlene
through those last days.  PatM

What an unfortunate set of circumstances.  Best of purrs for all three
to make out the best they can.  Just when you think you're having
problems, you hear about someone who is way worse off than you are.
My heart goes out to your sister and her family.
