Sigh. What is wrong with people?
I get a call last night from a friend. Someone has dumped, in a box
(with the lid folded over, so at least I suppose there was *some* air
available) two kittens on his daughter and her husband's property.
Unfortunately, hubby's an a**, and his idea is to drown them. Wife
talks him out of this (supposedly), but then his other option is to
toss them out a car window into a field. Can you hear me screaming
yet? Hubby is a world-class jerk -- would-be KKKer type, even. I
would like to personally slap him (not to mention whoever dumped them
in the first place).
We have NO space. Our roof has been leaking, and things are still out
of the closets all over the "Kitty Rescue Room". But what am I going
to do? Let the cats either directly be killed, or likely be killed
slowly outside in the cold/by predators/whatever?
So we have two kittens upstairs in the KRR. I got some stuff out of
the way, but it's still a mess. One is mostly grey, with a bobbed
tail -- don't know if he's a Manx, or just had a tail injury. The
other is skinnier, a white on front with black and grey markings on
the rest of him. Both boys, so far as I can tell . The skinnier one
is much more skittish, but has come up to me a few times and let me
pet him. Bobtail is obviously the leader, showing no fear and chowing
into the food dish first.
Now I have to find a place for them, and having gone through this
before, I know it is bleak, bleak, bleak. Sigh. They can't be very
happy in their cramped quarters, but at least it's better than being
dead or injured in a field somewhere :-(
Purrs welcome that I come up with a solution to get these babies into
a shelter or rescue group soon!
Thank you.

Megapurrs for you and the kittens, and that you find a way to get them
either to new homes, or to a shelter/foster/rescue group that can re-home
them.
Dirty litterbox offerings to the idiot(s) who dumped the kittens in the
first plase, as well as anyone who would ponder doing them direct or
indirect harm.
If only it was possible to take the people who dump pets and abandon THEM
somewhere. Like in the middle of the woods or desert with no supplies, or
on a raft in the middle of the ocean. I'd like to see how THEY freakin'
like being put in that predicament. >:o(

What Donna said!
You at least bought them some time in a safe place, Ginger-lyn. And you
got them away from the jerk woul would have drowned or redumped them.
I hope a loving hooman is out there for these poor little ones.

Or put them in a big cardboard box, load the box on a trailer, get on the
busiest freeway around, speed up to 75 MPH and push the box off into the
center lane.

I'd go with the first idea. The second is too quick. As I've said
before I think people like that should have their names, addresses and
a guarantee of immunity from prosecution published.

Lots of purrs for you and your wonderful, caring heart. Is there
anything we could do to help? Would a rescue organization take them if
they came with a donation? I would love to chip in.

Bless your heart for taking in these poor kittens, you are so kind,
Ginger-lyn.
In the same situation I would have to do the same myself, but I would also
be pushed for space. They'd have to be in boxes in the bathroom probably
but at least there is quite a good chance that I could get them into some
re-homing facility fairly quickly here.
Lots of luck

Oh Ginger-Lyn I sympathise with you,I get myself really Irate
with people like that both the dumper and the husband who would like to
*redump* them they are so sick in their tiny little minds, you are an angel
and I'm sure those little kitties love you for it, somebody once dumped
4 ia box right outside my door, I couldn't take them but my son took two,
and his girl-friend at the time took one, and I took the other to the pet
dpt
of Grace Bros' I already had 2 and a dog in a council house why can't people
do this themselves, is it just laziness or just a-couldn't -care-less
attitude?

Wow, you guys are *good*!!!
I called Cat Welfare, and they normally have a waiting list to get
cats in. This time, they simply asked "Can you bring them in
tomorrow?"
So Stumpy and Shy Guy are now at the shelter, and if they test okay,
will be there until they find good homes.
Thank you all, and if you can spare purrs that they'll test okay, that
would be great!

thoughts for you and your situation, and litter box offerings for the
