Oh. My. God. I would have a heart attack seeing that. (BTW, sure sounds like
a sweetie).

Ooooh, what a cool perch. I used to live in a block of flats where there
were windows above the doors. Nikki figured out how to scale my coats
hanging in the hall, climb up on the coat rack, then step on an
electricity cabinet, and jump to the ledge under the window. Then she
would sit there and watch the world go by. She loved that place, and
people learned to look for the little black cat perched above my door.

That is so cool! How long did it take her to figure that out, and
how long did it take you? I just love to see a cat sitting in a
window.

I think she found that out a few days after we moved in. I heard a
rattling in the hall (when she was climbing up the coats, rattling the
hangers) and went to see what was going on. There she was on top of the
coat rack, and soon made her way up to the window sill. Nikki has always
been fearless and will check out anything she d*mn well wants to and no
one's going to stop her. :o) That rattle became a very familiar sound
during the four years I lived there.

My parents' house had a small window above the mailbox. Their cat
would jump from a chair to a wooden cabinet (we called it a
"highboy", but it was basically a very-strangely-shaped file
cabinet), from there to a bookcase, and curl up on the window ledge.
The bookcase was in front of the window, and a few inches higher
than the window ledge, so she was unlikely to roll off. Eventually,
the cat became too arthritic to make the jump to the top of the
bookcase. After about a week, the mailman asked one day how the cat
was doing, as he was used to seeing her gazing down at him.

I was shooting into the window so that the picture of Barnabus himself
is more like a black object in the window but the purpose of the photo
was to show him on the upper window. Lacey is the cat in the cat tree
just under him and the cat tree he used as a launching pad is just to
the right. Its about 4" taller than the one Lacey is on. I don't think
he's been back up there since his initial exploration.
He's such a sweetheart. He comes running to me when he gets scared. If
I'm sitting on the couch he runs up behind me on the back of the couch
and drapes himself around my neck on my shoulder. Of course this
eventually leads to attacking my head, but for a few minutes he's just a
baby wanting him Meowmy.
