Boyfriend and "the enemy"

My nice neighbour aged 80+ who lived two doors away moved away to be nearer
her children about 2 years ago.
A family moved in with a huge black boy kitty.  He does not like Boyfriend.
When N?le was here - looking after me and the chickens and cats after my
last eye operation - she said there was a black cat that was continually
attacking BF in his own garden and she called him "the enemy."
I am easing myself back into work, and until March I'm not working
Wednesdays.
I was trying to weed the flowers in my front border (sadly neglected) and BF
was helping me by winding himself round my legs.

*Then*  the enemy came.  First of all he was just going to pass the house
until he saw Boyfriend.  He came onto our patch near my car.
Boyfriend got in front of me ready to pounce on him, and he was in pounce
position but he lost his nerve and dived behind me.  Enemy is very big and
fierce so I don't blame him.
Enemy stared with his big yellow eyes at BF.  Standing right up against
meowmie's car.  Boyfriend stared back.
Enemy then rubbed his cheeks on meowmie's car bumper.  BF was livid.
Black kitty then went away.
I think Boyfriend will sneak out later and rub his cheeks over the enemy
smell.

Sounds like you have a big bully in the neighborhood.
Purrs that boyfriend dosent let him get to him to much.
I think its cute how boyfriend stood between the two of you.

My Moxie has a sworn enemy in the neighborhood. Oh my! The sounds!

Good for BF for defending his territory.

Stinky has a "nemesis" too.  He is a rather round black and white tom
who comes around and sits on the porch with a smug expression.  As
soon as Stinky detects him, he starts marching around the house
YOWLING "I'll kick your @$$!"  I call the tom "Newman" after
Seinfeld's unpleasant neighbor. ;)  The look on Stinky face when he
comes around is just like Jerry's when he would grit his teeth and say
"Hello, Newman."

Vino has a neighbourhood nemesis too.  It's a white girl with a brown
tail, brown ear and a perfect brown circle on one side.  We call her
Spot.  Ohh, the nasty language that comes out of her mouth!  Awful!
She likes to come up to the screen doors in the living room and yowl
at Vino and loll about rubbing herself on everything.  With other
cats, Vino usually just crouches there and watches, but with Spot,
Vino gets mad and yowls back.  Spot has even climbed up the side of
the house and hung onto the outside of the screened living room window
while yowling!
There is a new puppy down the road and she likes to come up to the
house too.  She is deathly afraid of Vino and will run away when she
sees him through the window.  She comes from the same direction as
Spot, so we think she might belong to Spot's people.  She has
instilled the fear of cats in this puppy from early on!

Sandpaper kisses, a cuddle and a purr. I have an alarm clock that's
covered in fur!

Mischief - 10 Feb 2005 04:21 GMT
There was this black stray cat with a really cute, high pitched meow
that used to come by my apartment building.  She would walk on the wall
outside my window and it would drive Mischief NUTS!!!!  Mischief would
be growling and all poofed out, even though the window's shut too.

The cat doesn't come around anymore, at least that I can see.  I bet
she still does but steers clear of the window.  Every now and then
Mischief will perch on the sill in her little "meerkat" pose and give a
whiny meow, like she's trying to tell me that something's there.
