Finally! A human tradition that makes sense to kitties!
All over the USA, humans are holding Supper Bowl parties as even as we
type. Purr-sonally, we love the idea. We celebrate OUR supper bowls every
day, especially when Meowmy puts cat food into them. We think it's high
time that humans a-purr-eciated the glorious SUPPER BOWL for what it is
and what it stands for. Supper Bowls deserve, not only a countrywide
celebration full of parties, but their own worldwide holiday, in our
humble opinions. In fact, we'd like to propose a parade for...
What's that you're saying?
It's NOT a bunch of parties for Supper Bowls?
It's about some human game called football, and their champtionship called
the SUPER Bowl?
Oh. That's different. Never mind.

LOL!!! That's great! I agree, Captain and Stanley. A SUPPER bowl is
much more celebration worthy than that other thing!!!

Hah!
As someone who finished a book and played computer games while DH watched
large men attempting to do bodily injury to one another, I heartily agree that
a celebration of the supper bowl would be much more appropriate.
I have my theories about football. It seems to largely be a chess game
with human pieces, and it's amazing to me the injuries that people will
suffer just to play it. Given how *hard* it is to become a professional
athlete as opposed to making a decent living otherwise, it seems to me
that it's likely that the only people who would do this for a living are
those who don't have better prospects -- ie, they can't afford to go to
college without a football scholarship, or maybe they're not bright
enough to be successful in a more traditional line of work.
Maybe I'm completely off-base, but as a whole, the sport worries me.

No, the thing about it that worries me is that there are people who
believe that God is paying attention to their Friday night high school
football game. ;)

My father's girlfriend once tartly speculated that God allowed the
tsumani disaster because he was too busy responding to pre-game
prayers. :P

And another problem. We tried to watch the game with Meowmy and Paw
because everyone said that the EAGLES were playing. But we didn't see any
eagles in the game. Just lots of humans.
Of course, the humans were chasing a ball, running around, and pouncing on
each other. So maybe they DO know how to play properly, like we cats do.
That's as close as we've seen to a bunch of humans getting the zoomies.
Tell us, is there any game that involves humans chasing a string? We might
like to watch that one next. :3

Not that I know of ... but if you watch the Olympics, you can see humans
playing with a ribbon attached to a stick! It looks an awful lot like a cat
toy.

Deer Captain and Stanley
You have my complete support for making Supper Bowl Sunday the first
national Cat Holiday. =o) With young fellows like you coming along, I have
hope that the Hoomins will stop playing violent games in which they try to
imitate us by chasing a funny ball while dodging and chasing one another,
and start letting US do the chasing and pouncing. WE know how to do both
things without hurting one another too much, and we are far more
entertaining and graceful in the process. I just wish I'd thought of the
idea myself years ago.
Sincerely,
Panther.
