We finally took some pictures of Oscar. They're so-so, but hey ...
Also, ignore the big oaf in the snowflake pyjamas. Just look at the cat,

Aw. what a beauty she is! :o)
I'm a big fan of the comic "Mutts", and that last picture reminds me of
the cat from that comic strip who loves his "Li'l pink sock". So if you
notice Oscar walking around singing, "Li'l blue sock, li'l blue sock",
you'll know that she reads "Mutts", too. ;o)

Hehe. She has grey, hot pink, and black socks ... so she might even sing
"li'l pink sock" ... But I've never heard her singing to her sock, just
licking it to within an inch of its life. You can see all the fuzzies in the
picture; they sure weren't that fuzzy to begin with! (And they used to be
*my* socks, but of course, she won that battle ...)

I got it for her in November; for most of her life she's only had a tiny one
foot tall one. But after some reading on these cat NGs, it became clear to me
that she deserves better!
It's called the Ultimate Scratching Post, and I can't find the site from which
I ordered it anymore, but it's available from a trustworthy source:
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=10290
On sale right now, too =P
What's funny is that, because Oscar's always used short scratching posts,
she's used to stretching her body out horizontally to scratch. So for the
most part, she only uses the bottom foot of the new scratching post, anyway.
I'm trying to slowly get her to stretch upward by using my own fingers as
examples and by zooming her toys around the top of the post.

Thanks. I saw another link to once before but I didn't save the
URL. This is great. :)

Sure, but I think she'll find that stretching out to scratch is more fun,
which is the only reason I care. She's always been very good about not
scratching unauthorized items. In fact, because of that, I had to spend a lot
of time coaxing her before she realized that it was okay to scratch the new
post.
