Pan's Progress

Just a brief note to tell all that Pan has begun walking more normally on
all four legs, now being almost 10 days out of his bandages. Immediately
after being unbandaged, he was still hopping around on three legs, favoring
the weak one. But now he's beginning to trust the leg again, as he's tested
it and it hasn't collapsed under him.  He's also sitting, again! He can't
quite bend the right leg into it's pre-break position when sitting so it
sticks out a bit, but for eight weeks, he's only had the choice of standing
or lying down, so being able to sit is a big step.  I'm giving him some
glucosamine treats to help stiff old joints hurt a  little less, and bend
more easily.  He's getting back some of his muscle tone, so the leg looks
more like a cat leg, and less like a bent pencil covered with sticky, skanky
black fur. He is, unfortunately, also able to make it up onto the dining
room table by himself, again. =o\  He was most disappointed to find out I
was not dining on roast pheasant or fresh lobster, as he had obviously been
hoping.

Oh such good news. Sounds like he is on the road to recovery. Sounds
like maybe he deserves a feast of roast pheasant or lobster.
I am so glad he is feeling better.

Glad to hear Panther is progressing so well. Maybe he's earned a little
roast pheasant? ;o)

I was away this weekend, and have given him several scritches upon my
return, tonight.  He hardly thinks it's good enough, since I was away
visiting my Aunt and Uncle who own four large dogs.  It was not a pleasing
olfactory experience for him. =o)  Nina and Francesca seem to have taken it
in stride, though.
