I know a sommelier is among the regular readers, although I don't
remember who it is...

I'd like to learn about wine, but don't know where to begin. I know
*nothing* - I can't even describe what kinds of wine I like because I
have no points of reference - for example I have no idea if I like dry
wines because I've never tasted something I knew was a dry wine.

help?

If I can remember back that far, "dry" means not sweet.

Yes dry means not sweet. I think Matthew (the sommielier sp?) is at a
convention or something like that for his profession. Foodnetwork.com
might have some info about wine.
