She hasn't blown up into little kitty pieces yet.  She comes out when no
one is in the room, and will even come out when one of us is in the
room, so long as we are quiet.

She is currently sleeping underneath Mandy's bed.

Pierce College is partly a farm, and I've worked with some of the
animals

Last year I was on pregnancy watch when one of our huge pigs was about
to give birth.  I got a lot of reading and studying done.  That was Oct
2003.  It was hot, and the pig's name was Boom Boom.  :)  I kept her
company while she was in her farrowing crate, but it took about a week
of waiting before any pigs popped out.

Then in Spring of 2004, I was on pig watch again with Jana.  After a
whole week of waiting, I got to be there when the first piglet came
out.  It was really sweet.  :)

So don't worry, I know the feeling of waiting around waiting for
something to happy.  Just wait until she starts getting anxious and
can't get comfortable.  Even then it might be a while, and she'll be in
a REAL GOOD mood. :0 )

I remember when my Judy (who had supposedly been spayed,
according to the woman I got her from) was ready to have her
kittens - she kept following me around the house, trying to
lead me back to the spot she'd chosen for the "lying-in".
Apparently she wanted someone to hold her paw during the
blessed event.  Her daughter, on the other hand, wa sitting
on my lap, and simply got down and went into the box I'd
prepared for her and proceeded to give birth, with no fuss
at all.

I'm still saying five kittens, but I'll make that prediction for
Wednesday PM now. :-)

I think Sonya's having some fun yanking her hoomin foster family's
chain:  "The big female is getting agitated...but I just... <yawn>
don't feel like becoming a Mommy today..".;o)

I'm revising my kitten bet for 5 kittens to be born in the wee hours of
Sunday morning. Then they can upstage the Super Bowl. =o)

OK my next bet is Monday AM between midnight and 6am.  But still think no
more than four kittens.

I figure she will want to keep you on your toes during the superbowl.

From my experience as a breeder,  a cat's temperature drops below normal
before birth.
Realising that you can't take her temperature per rectum,  try feeling her
ears.  After establishing what they normally feel like,  you will notice
that they feel quite chilly up to 24 hours before the birth.  Worth a try,

We are purring for an easy delivery whenever it occurs.    MLB

Purrs from Memphis and Phoenix, who, being male have no idea what she is
going through. Is she holding out for the longest pregnancy record?

Sonya is trying to be the half time show for the Super Bowl
We are still purring here that it is a safe delivery and that every
one is okay. Also Purring that meowmie does not pace a hole through the floor.

Hey, I'd rather watch Sonya and her babies than Janet Jackson having a
"wardrobe malfunction" any day. The kittens are bound to be cuter, and who
could take offense at a mama kitty and her babies? =o)

I'd forgotten about the Super Bowl.  I think Sonya would make an
adorable half time show, whether she has the kittens during it or not.

This morning she woke me up at 4:30 am sounding like she was trapped
somewhere.  I checked out all the other cats and they were fine.  So I
woke Mandy up and demanded that she check on Sonya.  She says Sonya is
fine.

However, Mike and Jim rearranged Mandy's furniture last night.  Sonya
wouldn't let them move her out from under the bed.  They ended up
sliding the bed with Sonya shifting with it.  I think she's getting
ready for the big one, but not betting the farm on it.

I have a friend called June.  She is a very experienced breeder of dogs,
cats and horses.  She can easily handle big stallions to mate a mare.  She
can deliver almost everything that is misplaced in the womb, unless worst
scenario, when she gets the vet.
I was panicking because one of my whippet bitches was overdue with her
puppies.  I knew this, because I knew the exact date she'd been mated, and
you don't with Sonya, Pam.
I phoned her, to say Susan hadn't had her puppies and showed no signs.
She said  "Those puppies will come exactly when they want to, so relax."  I
found it very difficult to take her advice. I paced around, and then I took
her to the vet who said if they don't arrive in a couple of days get back to
us.
They came two days later, 6, mother and pups all well.  Susan bit June on
the face when she thought she was picking up one of her newborns -  grateful
for the help when June came to see if there were any more left inside!
Susan would never have done this normally, bitches go a bit crazy when they
have new puppies.
June had to judge a whippet show the next day, with a black eye.  It was
commented on.  "How did you get that?"  "I got bitten"   "Surely not by a
whippet?"  "Yes, a whippet that was giving birth and protecting her newborn
puppies."
"Oh, fair enough"

Mega purrs for Sonya to have an easy birth.
Go to bed, Pam.  If you are worried she might have a difficult time, set
your alarm every 3 hours or so in the night.
If not, stop pacing around and go to sleep ;-)

Lula is sending special BTDT birthpurrs to Sonya.  She was soooo
miserable the night before she had Hubert; I remember how sorry for her
I felt.  I hope Sonya has an easy, safe, and SOON delivery.   :-)
