I lost my good job back in June of 03. Shortly afterwards I got a temp
job that lasted until the end of the year. Since then I have been
unemployed, got a very sporadic on call part time job in October.
Submitted my resume all over the place, even had a few interviews. And
then
2 weeks ago tomorrow (Monday) I submitted my Resume to several places,
as always. One called me on Tuesday and set up an interview on Thursday.
At the conclusion of it I was asked to fill out an application, they said
they would contact me the next Tuesday. They called on Monday and asked
me to come in the next day to fill out paper work for a back ground check
and get a drug test. Did that, and I am still waiting on the results.
:-(.
I know I will pass, since I do not drink or do drugs, have no criminal
record, and just passed a background check for the huge software company
that I do part time work for. It is just that the waiting is killing me.
And to top it off, I could work this week at the part time job, and
another company has called me to set up an interview.
Things are looking up, but the wait is killing me.

Oh, I'm hanging in. It is just that I was hoping for everything to
have gone through on Friday.

The wait is always the hardest. Purrs for a good job. KC

Job purrs coming for you too. From the news here it looks like the job
market may be picking up a bit. I certainly hope so, but I don't think it
will ever pick up again in the US for my career field - people can do web
work from anywhere in the world and don't have to be sitting in the same
office with the boss.
Hugs,

I got a funny email from the headhunter company last week who found me a job
years ago. Dude wanted to know if I knew anyone who had a particular skill
set. I was like, uh, no, and how about find ME a job? I appreciate the guy
has to earn a living but...

On that note, I worked for one temp agency, it got me one job that
lasted for 5 months, but ended a year ago. And not matter how many
times I checked with the agency, they never had any work for me.
Including working at the outfit I am doing part time work for. The
temp agency sends some people out when needed, but I never get a call,
even though they have no idea that I am working there.
To top it off, I got an email from them a couple of weeks ago telling
me that if I get somebody to sign with them I would get a bonus.
What a load of crap, they don't give me anywork, but want me to send
more people to them?

Sounds like the job market over there is looking up, with so much good
news on rpca lately. We'll send soothing purrs for the wait and
good-luck purrs for a good outcome.
