I know it's not the most desirable subject, but it sure has my attention
today. I'm a ways south of Rochester, NY< USA, and we got six inches
yesterday, another three today. Temps about 10 F. I'm told that closer to
Lake Ontario got bombed with about a foot.

I hope all of you are OK, and that your hoomans are doing OK, too.

I'm in Maryland, just west of Annapolis and we got about 6". Very
cold today, too, around 18. Good news is that the temps are
supposed to warm up into the 30s and 40s this week. It'll feel like
a heat wave!

And you too! Ok here, in fact, a Good Samaritan cleared the snow
from the front of my driveway last night. I heard a tractor, but I
wasn't really paying attention because there is often a lot of
noise outside, and it didn't occur to me that it was right in front
of my house. They earned a few points with the Big Guy Upstairs
yesterday with this good deed. :)

Not to be left out of things, we here in the Deep South decided to
join the parade and enjoy a dusting of snow, roughly an eighth of an
inch!!  How about  *that*??  'Course it was gone within an hour or so.
Seriously, I'm aware it must be really miserable to the north and from
what I've been reading in the NG, it doesn't exactly make for happy
campers.  Hope all have survived it OK.

Am I the only USian around here who isn't getting snowed on?

Nope.  It's a nice bright sunshiny day in Kansas.   I still have ice on
my driveway from the ice storms week before last, but that should be all
gone in another day or two. Temperatures dipped for the weekend, of
course. A forecasted high of 58°F tomorrow.

No snow here in west TN, either.  It's cold, though.  Didn't get over 31F
today.

:-(  They got swamped in Raleigh and further north, but we didn't get
any, just cold air and winds.  Mandy is particularly bummed.  She
doesn't want to got to school tomorrow.

If you are pretty sure kittens are imminent, I'd let her stay home.  There
are somethings you can't experience in school.  And that is still true if
she's seen kittens born before.  It sounds like she is bonding with the
mamma.

No, but here in LA it did get a  little chilly.  I actually closed the
front door a short while ago so I wouldn't be too cold when I dried
off after my shower.

Not to brag or anything (OK, just a little), it was below freezing here
in Helsinki yesterday, but I still left the balcony door open while I
took a shower and dried off afterwards.

No snow in the Pacific NW (WA) although the ski areas could really use it.

My parents are living the retired life in coastal North Carolina, where they
enjoy fishing and boating and the generally temperate weather.  I live in
Boulder, Colorado, at high altitude, where snow and cold weather are pretty
common.

My dad told me yesterday that it's been in the 20s where they live.  I
laughed.  "It'll be 60 here all week, Dad!  If you want some sun, maybe you
should visit us!"

It was fun tweaking him.

My Meowmie looks at the weather news and forecasts for back east, and then
tells me, "THIS is why we live in California, baby! Now and then, the cost
of living around here is worth it!"

Thanks. Philadelphia got a foot of snow, too, but so far we're hanging in
there. DH was able to dig out one of our cars, which were both plowed in
by the snowplows, but it took hours.

I had planned to fill a spare litterbox with snow and present it to the
kitties for their entertainment, but they've both got some kennel cough
symptoms. So I decided to give them a box of snow to play with some other
time... the cellar is pretty chilly and I didn't think that sniffles,
getting damp by playing in snow, and a chilly cellar would be a good
combination.

Anyway, stay-warm purrs and safe-commute purrs go out to everyone in need.
Our weather was nasty and I know that other places got hit even worse.
