Please Purr for Puppy

On the way home from running errands earlier, I saw a puppy running
loose on the street.  He looked around six months old, a grey pit bull
with big feet, blue eyes, and a smiley face-- altogether a delightful
little fellow.  He was wearing a collar that was a little tight, and
there was also a  broken string around his neck.  This immediately
made me suspicious-- the poor little guy was shy, too-- curious, but
shrinking away from being touched.  I was hoping I could get him to my
place, where I could try to confine him while I contacted some dog
shelters.  I was able to get him to follow me home.  I put down my
groceries and ran back outside, but he was gone.  I was completely
unprepared for this little guy.  I ran up and down the block, but I
couldn't find him anywhere.

Please pray and purr for this poor little guy.  I am afraid that
absolutely nothing good can happen to him out there.  It is freezing
cold, and he seemed like he already had got away from someone
unsavory.  I am praying he comes back, or at least runs into someone
else with a heart and conscience.

Purrs for the puppy. Can you alert animal control to be on the lookout in
your area?

"Animal control" is pretty bad.  I live in NYC, and they are
overextended, understaffed, and usually put the animals to sleep
anyway.  The only way you get them to respond if if you are actually
holding an animal.  I have had nothing but unsatisfactory dealings
with them, except in adopting animals from them.  In short: THEY SUCK,
and they are a good place to get animals *away* from.  Some of the
slack has been taken up by private individuals who have set up their
own shelters and networks, but this is obviously inadequate.  I was
hoping to grab the little guy, confine him, get him to the vet,  then
call around the network.

I have been watching for him, but haven't seen him come back around.
My heart is sinking, since a big winter storm is coming.  I can't get
his funny little face out of my mind.  :(

Lots of Purrs that the little guy finds his way back to you or someone else who will look at for him.

Ahhh, poor baby.  I spotted a little chihuahua last week running down
the middle of an icy street when our temperatures weren't getting above
20F.  He didn't have a collar at all. I was getting ready to stop and
pick him up when I saw someone else come around the corner and stop to
get him.  Felt so bad for the little thing.

Purrs times 3 going out for the little pit bull.

Poor little guy.  I'm pulling for him.  Maybe you could put some dogfood out
and see if he returns?

Prayers are on the way, and purrs will be forthcoming when I get my cats
this evening. Poor little guy, I hope the next person he meets is the one
that gives him a OneTrueHome where he is spoiled rotten for the rest of a
long, healthy life.

Purrs for the puppy.

It's funny, but I just got a can of dog food yesterday.  I do it every
so often, since once in awhile, I do run into a d-pet running loose
(even got a lead so I can grab them).  But I hadn't done it in quite
awhile, until yesterday.  Maybe it's a good omen?  I hope so.

Jeez, I hope so.  And I'm going to do the same, so I'm never caught
unprepared like I was today.

Purrs and good thoughts on the way for the lost puppy.  Hopefully by now
someone has rescued him and either returned him to his proper home or
found a warm spot for him to stay.

Purrs for the pup to have a good home somewhere, and that he finds his
way back. And if he doesn't have a home, that someone manages to get
him in somehwere warm and that he can find a good forever home

Missed this.  Many purrs for the little lad.  I feel fairly sure another
animal-loving person will have seen him and caught him.

I guess I'm a bit late But Wilson and I will still add our Purrs
to the rest, what a pity he ran off again, I do hope he gets some
good luck out there, it can be a lonely and frightening place
for a little pup on his own.   Jean.P.
