CatNipped - 20 Jan 2005 17:26 GMT DH is off today and I had to call him to ask a favor of his web search skills. He put me on speakphone so he could type while he talked. He said soon afterwards Sammy came streaking into the room, jumped on the desk, laid her whole (BIG!) body over the phone and started purring!!! As I continued to talk she jumped up and started licking the phone then started to paw at it like she was trying to get inside to get me out! DH was laughing so hard he couldn't talk!

Puma (dog, RB) used to get really excited when he heard my dad's voice on the answering machine. I don't think he ever licked it, though ...

What a good girl!!!!!! Basho does the same thing when I'm traveling and call Tom on the phone (it seems every time I call him, he has Basho on his lap). He looks at the phone and then starts purring.

Speaking of which, DH and I have "his" and "her" cats - Jessie is definitely a daddy's girl, while Bandit and Sammy have taken possession of me (Demi tends towards me more, but only when I'm safely tucked under the covers, otherwise she's hiding somewhere).
How do your seven divide you and Tom up?

Victor Martinez - 20 Jan 2005 19:41 GMT > How do your seven divide you and Tom up? Hmmm... ours don't seem to prefer one or the other. Luna will go from one lap to the other several times during an evening... :) Tom is partial to Fez though...

I've honestly loved all my cats with all my heart, but Sammy is just special - probably like all "late-life babies"! ;> She just melts my heart when she licks my face or snuggles up next to me for a good toe-sucking session! OK, maybe there's a money making opportunity here - you could get a little extra cash by hiring out Stinky as a temp worker - hey, he'd probably do better than most college kids! <ducking and running> ;>

When the phone would ring she would run to wear it was and meow untill someone stopped that awful noise that it was making. After said item would stop its awful ringing she would lay backdown and sigh as if to say I wish they would get rid of that awful thing.

> Theresa > Stinky Pictures: http://community.webshots.com/album/125591586JWEFwh > My Blog: http://www.humanitas.blogspot.com Has anyone's cats ever actually called them? Our kitchen phone has speed dials with my son's cell phone, my wife's cell phone, and my cell phone. I was in a meeting a few days ago and my cell phone went off. Answered it and heard nothing in the way of a human voice - just household background noises (dishwasher, neighbor's dog woofing, DW talking in the distance, etc.). I didn't think too much about it untill I got home and DW apologized for Smokey calling me. Sam
Howard Berkowitz - 21 Jan 2005 19:22 GMT > <snipped> > > Oh what a scream. Stinky has this whole strange thing with the [quoted text clipped - 19 lines] > Smokey calling me. > Sam One day, my ex-wife and I got a call from the Harassing Call Bureau of Southwestern Bell Telephone, citing obscene calls that had come from our number at certain times -- when we had not been home. A few days later, my mother-in-law called, and mentioned that she had been getting 'heavy breathing" calls. On a hunch, we asked when, and the times matched those in the complaint.
It still didn't explain what had happened, until we saw Clifford (RB) jump on my ex's desk, walk across the telephone, step on the speakerphone button, and then hit a speed dial. My M-I-L answered, and Clifford, recognizing her voice, started cheerfully sniffing the microphone. As we went into hysterics in the background, we yelled out "Is that the heavy breathing?"
Shocked, she agreed. We explained, and got a grumpy "well, he could at least have said meow."

We explained, and got a grumpy "well, he could at > least have said meow." This is so FUNNY. Tanada once connected me to the internet, runs the printer on a regular basis, has been known to change the time and alarm settings on our alarm clock, and once wiped out the answering machine message, replacing it with house hold noise. QC gets all excited if he hears my voice on the phone or answering machine, but won't go after appliances unless they feature high pitched noises. Needless to say, computer speaker wires have to be replaced on a regular basis.

Needless to say, >computer speaker wires have to be replaced on a regular basis. Worse Felix has done was accidentally hit the power button on the [now out of service] shredder [we have a better one now]. Scared him nearly out of his fur [all that noise], no injury. Our current shredder requires insertion of paper to something like an inch deep before it'll start up, so DH deems it safe for paws and little birdie toes.

PatM - 22 Jan 2005 02:18 GMT My gosh, you're right! Just checked it out. Cell phones for pets. I have enough trouble figuring out where I laid down my hand set (thank goodness for 'find' buttons!), and remembering to check my teenager's pockets so I don't launder his cell phone!
