Persia here.  My mommy is starving me!  She will only give me what she calls
"1 and a half cups" of my special crunchies every day.  She has dis scoop
ting she uses ta put da food in da bowl a coupla times inna day.  I'm da big
girl; I need more food dan dat!  (And she only gives me da gooshy food
sumtimes.)

When I wake Mommy up in da morning she gives me one scoop of da crunchies.
(My mommy says dis is called x/d.)  Dey are so good!  I eat dem all up.  But
den da bowl is empty!

I've tried talking to Mommy but she doesn't unnerstand I need more of da
crunchies.  I talk wif different words but she doesn't unnerstand.
(Sumtimes she even laffs at me; dats mean!)  Den I don't get more of da
crunchies for a long time... I hafta take several naps so I don tink about
being hungry.

Last night she made da fish.  She didn't eat it all... she put it in da big
cold box.  She didn't give me any!  Dat is just mean.  She gave me a small
piece of sumfin she called da "hush puppy" and laffed and said it should be
called da "hush kitty".  It was good but it wasn't da fish!

How can I train Mommy to keep from starving me?

Yours in purrs,
Persia

I am da fluffy kitty.  But my meowmie plays wif me and I have lots of da toy
mousies and crinkly balls and puff balls.  And da boxes and paper bags.  And
sometimes I chase dat red greebling.  But she doesn't feed me enough of da
crunchies or of da hoomin food.  She does keep saying it is for my "own
good" but I tink I know when I want more of da crunchies!  Guess I'll go
take da nap now.  Den when I get up I'll get more of da crunchies.

Persia

P.S. Mommy says it is too cold onna OUT for me to go in my kitty walk.  And
she won't let me run onna OUT because of all da big growlie monsters.  Dat
and I don have da claws and dere are mean cats and dogs onna OUT.

Wow!  No claws?  Dat's terrible.  Can't take us claws off us here.  I av all
mine so it safe for me to go da outside.  I likes it, actually, da outside.
Very nice here, not much car and no lorry ever.  I can get da birds but
meowmie gets cross with me.  If I get da mice or rat she seem pleased.
Miss Persia, if you av no claws it not safe for you to go in the OUT.  Ow
would you fight a nasty kitty wot might come in your garden wivvout you
claws?  Stay in with you meowmie.  Veres a black boy kitty wot comes in my
garden.  He a norty kitty.  One or two times he chase me into my own house.
Good job Kitty FC there, she chase he outside and bop he ears. Free times
she did this.  He don't come no more.
This don't mean I not brave myself.  Kitty just got there first. She older
dan me.

Cats are never fat, we are fluffy.  You hoomins are fat, and mean, and
greedy, and don't share.

Dear Persia,

My hoomine calls me Pheniox. hav u try to yell at the hoomine? I yell at my hoomine and she sometime give in. If not the smelly thing they put stuff in has food. The hoomine will yell if you do it and get caught. So you have to stalk it first. Maybe if you make your hoomine play with you some of your pretty fluff will go away and you can have more crunchies. I sorry your hoomine is being mean to you, I have a mean hoomine to, she makes me drink yuky water.

Good luck training the hoomine,

Dear Pheniox's Meowmie,
The line lengths of your postings are going off the screen.  What
software are you using to post?  It probably has a capability to
adjust the line lengths.  Or maybe you don't have wordwrap turned on.
Check it out.  A good line length is  70-80 characters.

Ohhhh my poor dear sweet Persia.  Maybe you should try what I do.  When I'm
hungry and da dish is empty, I go up to Mommy and nudge her hand with my
nose.  After she gives me scritchies and petting (and I do purr a lot when
she does) she goes and fill my dish.  Sometimes she's sleeping and I can't
find her hands, so I just lay on toppa her and purr until she wakes up.

Purrs & love

she doesn't get up and fill da bowl.  But I'll try harder next time.

Dear Miss Persia,
When you jump on your Mommy does she go "OOOF!"?  When that happens,
usually that's when my Mommy starts starving  me.  :(

I asked my mommy and she says the only time she goes "OOOF" is when I leap

Little Bit here

Something that works somtimes when our hoomin is a bit slow (like most
hoomins, he's not too swift sometimes) is to find some papers he's
left out and start shredding them. Unfortunately, so for it's not
helping much with our current food shortage, but it might be worth a
try.

Hi, Persia!  Oscar here.

My mom completely screwed up my food, too.  I had a pretty good deal -- all
crunchies all the time, as much as I wanted -- but then all of a sudden, she
hid the crunchies and left me with nasty gooshie stuff!  It's really gross and
it takes me a while to work up the courage to eat it, by which point it has a
really weird texture and ... ugh!  I shudder just thinking about it!

Anyway, you might try what I do.  It's hard, but it's effective.  I just
refuse to eat for a couple of meals.  Mom worries about me when I don't eat,
so she feeds me all sorts of great treats!  Freeze-dried chicken, catnip
treats, and just all *sorts* of yummy stuff!

Like I said, it's tough, but it really does work.

At least the food you get is good! One of our daddies likes feeding us
really bad gooshy food. He says it's good for us, but we don't like it.
We wait until the other daddy comes home and then we yowl until he feeds
us yummy gooshy food. :)

I finds it best to steel Smokes food wen dey ar not lookin. Wen dey feed me
in da mornin, dey always goes to da BIG litter box. So I tries to eat Smokes
bowl until dey gets back. Den I can eat my food later. Maybee you can steels
da fish wen your mean meowmie is not lookin.

Don't know, but if you figure out how to train your hoomin, don't
waste any time letting us know how you do it. We have the same problem
here, ever since that crazy TED character told our hoomin I needed
some special diet food for my heart. We used to have pretty good
crunchy food out all day long, but now we only get soft food a couple
times a day - and it's NOT ENOUGH. What makes it even worse is that
our hoomin still feeds the neighborhood cats GOOD food in plain view
out on the patio just ot be mean.

Pheniox here,
Poor Sammy, your hoomine is
feeding the OUT cats the good stuff. You should
let him know that this is not acceptable maybe litterbox offerings are
in store, though I did this and my Meowmie was not happy with me.

Whatever you do, DON'T leave litterbox offerings in front of the food
bowl, or in mewomie's bathroom, even if she forgot to feed you... it
just made her very cross and she said that we couldn't have any treats
or hoomin food ALL DAY today!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think she'll really
do it though. Usually she gives us some of her  hoomin food when she
eats her breakfast and her dinner. We come running when she opens the
fridge and gets out the yummy yummy meat. But the best treat of all is
yoghurt... we wish she'd just give the jar to us when it was full
instead of making us wait while she eats it first.

Scout here - I hope meowmie doesn't decide to put us on a diet anytime
soon... on saturday the TED said that I weigh 6 1/2 pounds and I'm all
muscle! Silver's lazy and she likes the hoomin food even better than
me, so she's 7 1/2 pounds and with a big dangly tummy...

Scout, dat is not a "dangly tummy" on Silver; it's da "modesty flap".

I always meow at Mama Kristi to get her to feed us more, but she
doesn't!!

I've been trying to get Imp to help me tag team food from the kitchen.
There are always yummy things in the kitchen but Mama Kristi is so
selfish she doesn't share!

If only Imp would help me tag team, then he could distract Mama Kristi
and then I can steal all the food for myself...er, i mean both of us...

I can't get da stupid bird Peaches (it dunks itself in da water every week)
to plot against Mama Jill.  It gets da APPLE SLICES and da KALE.  My mommy
is taking better care of da bird dan she is me even if she does let it dunk
in da water.  Okay, I don't like dat stuff she gives da Peaches but still...
I'd share da fish wif da bird if it would help me.

You guys are probably gonna gross out on this one (stop reading now if you
are weak-of-stomach):

I had chicken livers for dinner tonight.  Fried in *real* butter with
garlic, onion & pepper.  No sooner than they hit the pan when Moe was
begging for tasties.  I told her she had to wait, just like always (I'm not
one for giving raw meat to cats, especially poultry).  When they were done,
I cut some up, dribbled a bit of pan-dripping over them, and gave them to
Moe.  Well, she had to fight for them!  Weeble, Smokey & Mimi were there
too!  Actually, Mimi wanted what was on *MY* plate LOL, but I'm a mean Mommy
and wouldn't let her, so she patiently waited her turn at Moe's plate.  When
I cleared the table & was loading the dishwasher, I looked at the plate Moe
had, and it was licked clean!  I almost put it back in the cabinet without
washing it ;)

Nothing gross about that; but I'm not a huge fan of chicken livers.  I'll
bet Persia would adore them :)  I once made Cajun 'Dirty Rice' and it called
for ground up cooked chicken liver and gizzards.  Okay, the rice was great
but not *that* great.
