I am reading the above book at the moment. It's written by Deric Longden.
This man would make a fine member of rpca.
"But now I had three other cats to cope with and, besides, Thermal had long
since put his childish ways behind him. He took his career in mouse
management very seriously these days and what with all the overtime involved
there just weren't enough hours available for playing around.
It was all work with him, nowadays, apart from sleeping and eating and
jumping off high walls on to very small dogs.."
This man deserves honorary membership of this group, does he not?

Oh, I would love it if he would join the group! I have most of his cat books
(not the lastone!) but they are hard to get in the US. The only one that I
have seen sold here is "Enough to make a cat laugh". I had to order the
others from the UK. Thermal is great!

I've read a lot of his books, they're all very entertaining. I can't
remember which book it is where he writes about his mother, her cat
liked to sleep in the bread bin, when she got another cat she bought him
his own bread bin. :-)

That book was called "Lost for Words." It was adapted for television and
starred the late great Thora Hird. I found it very touching.
