That is a goodie (going green, grrrrrrrrr)  So far my lowest is 50,250.

Very good.  I don't think I've managed a score under 50,000 yet.

Ha!  Last night, at the stroke of midnight, I managed the low score of
16530.  This is the doubled score after popping all the bubbles.  I
think this score is unbeatable and am hereby declaring myself Bubbels
champion.  Screenshot available upon request.  I am hereby retiring
from Bubbels.

It's true, I'm done with Bubbels.  I never played at all yesterday and
I won't play today and then I'm going to Bangkok for 3 days and after
that it'll be out of my mind.  In emergencies I'll play Tetris.

That's a *low* score.  My goodness, I must be *horrible* at this game.

Ginger-lyn
Too embarrassed to post her low score, although she did clear the
screen for the first time the other day!  Woo-hoo!

LOW score?

OK, I admit that I came onto the Bubbels scene late. But I guess I
misunderstood the goal of the game. (I wish I knew every language, darn
it! ;o) )

Anyway... can someone point me to a link to a post where the actual goal
of the game is explained? Clearing the screen, I understand. Low score,
though -- that surprises me.

Aagh. LOL. It's bad enough to find a game addictive, at least let me play
it properly, too. :o)

It doesn't say anywhere if you should try for a low score or a high
score, but a low score makes more sense.  I mean, you can keep playing
and playing and purposely miss bubbles just so you never clear the
screen until you have a huge score.  To try to clear the screen as
fast as possible is more difficult.

None of have the actual instructions.  But we learned after a while that it
is far more difficult to clear the screen with a low score than it is to run
up a high score.

Once you learn how to clear the screen, and if you've got it down to three
or four colors you can keep going darn near forever.

We have both options, high score and low score. For some people aiming
for a low score is more difficult than aiming for a high score. However,
a high score has its difficulties as well. You can't just keep missing
shots, because the bubbles will keep increasing in number and you will
lose very quickly. :)

That is what keeps me from getting a higher score.  I chicken out around
250,000.

I played the one game for *two hours* last night, and I was down to three
darn colours, orange, pink and dark blue (the dark blue hates me, I swear).
But htey just wouldn't arrange themselves to give me an even break, and I
could never clear the screen. Eventually I got tired and started making dumb
mistakes, but by that time, I was getting 6 lines coming down at once, and
once I made a few mistakes ina  row, the game had ended.

My final score - without doubling I may add - was 194k. And d*mn I pissed
off when it finished without the satisfaction of actually winning.

Still, I no longer play so obsessivley. I can go for up to 24 hours without
thinking about bubbels now.

I'm not very good at it, I've only cleared the screen twice and I played it
obsessively for weeks.
I get right down to a few bubbels, of maybe three colours, and then another
colour appears in the cannon that isn't on the screen!  Howl!
And this same colour is waiting in the wings too!  A colour that isn't on
the screen, now that's diabolical cheating if you ask me.

The trick there is to "hang" the odd-colored bubbel under two linked colors
so you can knock it off the next time the same color as the two linked
colors.

I thought I was free of bubbels, but then you sent me a Xmas card that
said pop pop pop and I had to go back and play. It's All Your Fault, Yowie!

I have a new high score (for me) 218,290 *without* doubling. I was down to
three colours for hours, and in the end it simply wouldn't get into a
configuration which would allow me to finish it off.

You can well imagine the choice words I had to say to it.

Good score!  Aside from the one fluke, I can never get lower than about 35
or 40K!

My lowest is in the 24K region, and I've never even come close again. It was
almost like the screen cleared before I got an extra line of bubbels.

I'm still aiming for a super low score and will stop once I've got below
20K. Or at least, thats what I tell myself....

When I first started playing bubbels, I never imagined that you can
gain skills to get better. It seemed like luck. But I know what you
mean. I can now clear almost every game I play. My score doesn't get
lower, but I can clear it. My lowest is still in the 30K range.  I
know I'm in trouble when I nearly clear the screen when under 10K
because then it gets harder. :)
