I called the vet this morning at 9 am as suggested. I was getting
dressed to go pick Sam up and bring him home.  Not to be :(  Sam had
another episode this morning and they had to return him to an oxygen
chamber at 8 a.m.  His oxygen-blood ratio was 90% and they want to see
it at least 98% and preferably 100%.  They're giving him Terbutaline
every 4 hours.  They're hesitant to give him steroids because he had an
injection of a long-acting steroid on January 4th, but the vet I spoke
with this morning said they may have to give him another dose.  The vet
who cared for him initially is expected in this afternoon so I'm to call
back at 2 p.m. to see if he can come home.  They said they'd call me if
there were any problems so today...no news is good news.  I forgot to
ask about the orange and white kitty, I'll check on it when I pick Sam
up, hopefully this afternoon.

Thank you for your purrs and thoughts. I know they help.

You can bet I'm sending up every kind of prayer for Sam's speedy recovery.
Here's hoping that the treatments take effect in record time, so you can
bring him home ASAP.

Prayers are on the way for the orange-and-white kitty, too. It crossed my
mind a little while ago that when Melody (RB) was coming out of
anesthesia, what she did sounded something like what you described. Melody
kept trying to stand, then tumbling over. Repeatedly. (This was after
she'd been spayed -- I had been supposed to pick her up after work, but
when I got there, she wasn't ready to go home.)

Anyway, I hope that our little orange-and-white buddy has a simple
explanation like that for why s/he kept falling. If that's the case, the
symptom stands a good chance of going away and staying gone.

Anyway, every sort of prayer and good thought is on the way for Sam to
feel better and come home as soon as possible.

This is very worrying. Purrs continuing for poor Sam.
