Done. I guess birds don't qualify as requiring "humane" killing... sheesh.

Thanks Victor. Also, wherever possible ask for humanly raised chicken
and cage free eggs at the grocery store. We decided we did not want to
become vegetarian but we have a policy to try to buy only humanly raised
meat and eggs. Also, our pork has to not only be humanly raised but on
a farm that doesn't store waste in a lagoon. Thank the Lord for Wholefoods!

That's where we buy our meats. The eggs I get at the farm where I get my
veggies, they are free-range and the chickens don't have any antibiotics
or hormones.

I'd love to find something like your farm here in the DC area. Right
now the best I can do is Land O Lakes Cage free eggs without antibiotics
or hormones. Do you find the free range eggs taste any different? The
butcher at our old Wholefoods in NC said free range eggs have a tase to
them that some people don't like.

Not really. They do last forever in the fridge because they are super
fresh, at the most 3 days old when I purchase them.

I've noticed the organic milk I buy lasts forever too. Being single, it's
hard to shop and it's really hard to use up a lot of milk in the one week
window you get, but the organic milk is usually at least two if not three
weeks from maximum freshness. So in the end, it's a better deal because
though it's more expensive, I drink it all!

If humans don't raise the chickens, who will? I doubt you will find wolfly
raised chickens. Or foxly raised chickens. But you may find humanly raised
ones. I'd rather have humans raise chickens.
