Hi group,
Patty has asked me to post this to the ng. You can email Patty at:
short7 [AT] netzero [DOT] com
Hugs to all,
Flippy.
=======================================================
Dear Friends and Furkins,
David passed away this afternoon of a massive heart attack. He was waiting
for his grandson to get out of school when it happened. I talked with him at
12:00 noon and he was in good spirits and feeling o.k. but was dead when
Mikel got to the car at 12:15. The coroner said the attack was so severe and
so fast, David never had a chance to call out for help and that he did not
suffer. His face was peaceful.
You have been an important part of our lives, and you know how much I love
him and will miss him. It would be unbearable for me if Mikel and my furkins
were not here to help me deal with this.
Flippy, please post this to the group for me. Would you please send me the
address to access the group? I don't know how to reach anyone but you.
The support Patty group is dearly needed right now. Patty :(

Oh dear! His is the second very sudden death I heard of
today! We all knew he had health problems, but he so seldom
spoke of them, and faced them with such courage and humour
it was easy to forget that the "clown prince" of rpca was
not as strong as an ox. He'll be much missed by his friends
- including all those in cyberland who feel as though we
knew him and Patty.

This is so very, very sad. I was afraid of this day for a long time.
It seemed like he had a lot of health problems. But he always
persevered and I thought he would be around for a long time to come.
I'm a bit angry at the world right now. I thought 2005 was supposed
to be so much better than last year but it's not starting out very
good :-(

I loved Dave when he and his BIL came out to meet us in Flagstaff. Dave
was funnier in person, if possible, than in print. The world lost one

I am so very sorry to hear this - I always looked forward to reading one

revealed an enormous sense of humour. Would love to have had the chance

Dave Stevenson also has a lot of Dave Y's stuff archived, but I'm having
to recreate my favorites list, and I haven't really got started on it yet.
Dave Y was an automatic BW, beverage warning. He could see the funny in
ANYTHING. Seriously. We joked that he spent as much time living in the
dog house as in the person house for all the tricks he used to pull oh
his poor wife, Patty. Which is why we started a "We Support Patty"
club, for her and a few other long suffering spouses.
Pam S. not ready to re-read Dave's stuff today.

Right around that time yesterday I started to send a message to the group
asking if anyone had heard from David lately. And didn't because I was
reluctant to find out why he hadn't been around. Like many others here I
loved him as much as you can love someone you don't know well.
I'm going to miss opening the newsgroup and hoping to see one of his
stories. He could always find a grin in about any situation.
And for him, I'm relieved. He had already been through so much with his
health and was so determined not to let it rule his life. If it was to be,
he would have been OK with the how it was.
Patty, I can imagine you in many ways. He talked about you often and with
love. I can see you happy and irritated and silly and angry. But I can't
see you sad. I pray that you have family and friends and furkids that will
hold you close through this and keep you safe and happy.

I've fallen behind in my newsgroup reading, so I'm just now seeing this.
It's hard to believe, yet I knew he has had serious problems with his heart
for years. I was fortunate enough to spend an afternoon with David and
Patty (and a couple of other rcpa'ers and their spouses) a couple of years
ago. I've missed his posts here lately, and now will always miss them.

How very very sad. My thoughts and good wishes are with Patty.
He never failed to elicit a laugh from me. When I would be feeling
down I would read his stories and be immediately cheered up. The
world is now a drearier and sadder place.

I never thought I would cry for someone I had never met, but here I sit. I
have sorely missed Dave's stories lately, and wondered. Patty, you have no
idea just how highly Dave was thought of among our group. We will all
remember and smile.
Lisa.

Ooooohhh!
I had been wondering lately how Dave had been doing.
I'm typing this through sobbing eyes...I so enjoyed all his posts and
his wonderful tales of life at Chez Yehuda. I, for one, will miss him
mightily...

Devastating news indeed.
Deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Patty and the other members of
David's family & wide circle of friends. His wit, insight and humour
were greatly admired and appreciated, and he will be sorely missed. The
world is truly a poorer place for his passing. At least this seems a
kindly way to go.
Our very best wishes and hopes for a tranquil funeral etc.

This has come as a terrible shock. We all knew David had health
problems, even when he still lived in Texas, but he bounced back so many
times.
Patty has my sincere condolences. David was a wonderfull man, who's
writing gave so much pleasure to so many people. He will be sadly missed
the world over.

I hope Dave knows how much he will be missed by those of us on this side of
the Bridge. He brought more joy to my life than many of my RL friends.
I am so sorry Patty and family.

Heartfelt condolences to Patty, Mikel and the rest of the family.
Seeing a post from Dave Y always made me smile even before I started to
read. His love of and enthusiasm for life always shone through so brightly.
The world is dimmer with his passing.

I'm so sorry to see this! Condolences to Patty and to the rest of Dave's
family. Prayers are on the way.
Thanks, Dave, for everything. You were one of the funniest people who ever
sat down at a keyboard. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Aw rats.
That really is rotten news. Dave will be so sorely missed by so many people.
