I just spotted something on another NG about a fire problem in the
Adelaide area. Are all our Australians accounted for?

AFAIK, there are no Australian posters to this NG in South Australia (the
state where the fires are). However, 9 people have so far lost their lives
because of the fires. Its horrific.

Queensland, is it safe there?

Your friend is safe from the fires, Queensland is at least 1000 miles from
the current fire danger in South Australia - Adelaide - Eyre Penisula

Dave would be the closest, yet, but he's still hundreds of miles away from
the fires - which are, if not actually out, are definately under control
now.
