I have often described my cat, Duffy, as "a little gymnast." He loves to
climb, and anyone watching him would have a hard time recognizing that he is
blind (and has been since birth). He left the Christmas tree alone except
for two occasions -- on the first day when I put it up and started
decorating it and on the last day when I started the process in reverse. I
imagine his attention was attracted to the sound and movement when I was
working on the tree.
I just posted two photos of Duffy's "help" in alt.binaries.pictures.animals
(in this case, the photos were taken when I was starting to *remove* the
ornaments -- which Duffy aided by swatting several ornaments off the tree).

Awww, what a good helper. I can't see the pics on usenet replayer yet
(don't get abpa) but I will watch for them. I loved Duffy's pic on
your Christmas card.
We decided to forego a tree this year because we didn't think we'd be
able to keep Hubert out of it; maybe next year!

With my kitties, I found that I had to grit my teeth and go *through*
the horror-- because as long as the tree was a novelty, they would
jump on it. When they got used to it being around, they stopped, and
would just sleep under it. SO this just meant a couple of seasons
with plastic ornaments. Gradually, I could bring out the glass.
Stinky loves to sleep under the tree, but he seems to have gotten all
the climbing and batting out of his system.

I'm fairly new here. I've seen other folks say that they post pix to an
address like that. I don't know what that is. How can I get it?

I see you post through google so you can't get binaries that way. If you
subscribe to a news service you can get it like any other newsgroup. There
is a spot called something like usenet replayer or something that shows the
pictures posted there. I don't have the URL. Maybe someone here can post it.
