Sam on my lap

When I'm on the computer I pull another chair up to the one I'm using for
Sam to sit on. I feel a paw on my leg and then another one. Sam just climbed
onto my lap and layed down. This is the first time he had done this.
He just climbed up again and is helping me type. I'm a happy cat mom right
now.

Cool!

Oscar never sits with me when I'm on the computer. To be honest, I'm pretty
sure I'm at fault. My desk has an elevated platform for the monitor, and it
was perfectly kitten-sized while Oscar was little. She'd crawl into the cubby
made by the platform, feeling very secure, and then get *very* upset
(growling, tail twitching, and lashing out with claws) when I invaded "her"
space by daring to sit at the computer and type. I dragged her out of there a
few times and made it very clear that this wasn't acceptable behavior. I
guess she decided the whole area was off-limits. Honestly, it probably works
out for the best.

She'll lie down at my feet while I'm typing sometimes, or nearby. I worry
about rolling the chair into her or stepping on her. Good thing I usually am
shoe-less and can feel her wonderfully soft fur.

The suprise was that he even got onto my lap. Sam was born outside and is
sitll learning that people are okay.

Thanks. It was a hard decision to keep him. I wasn't sure if I could
socialize him but, things are going well. Now I just need Cinnamon and Abby
to get along with him.
