Arthur rings in the New Year

So DH and I were sitting on the couch, watching Regis (and missing
Dick Clark), with the countdown beginning.  I realized I didn't see
Arthur anywhere.

"Arthur!  Arthur!" I called, not wanting him to miss his very first
New Year.

He came running down the stairs, and then headed straight towards the
litterbox.

And precisely at midnight, he dropped his version of the Times Square
ball in its appropriate place.

I hope that isn't Arthur's commentary on the year 2005!

Maybe he's getting rid of all the "badness" from 2004.

Nah, he was telling you what 2004 was like, especially this last week or so.

Seems more aprops to 2004!  In addition to notables like
Ronald Reagan, Jerry Orbach, Ray Charles, et all, German
conductor Carlos Kleiber died in 2004, along with a great
many opera singers - best known being Robert Merrill, Renata
Tebaldi and Franco Corelli.  (Not to mention the American
presidential election - the worst disaster of all, in some
eyes.)

Now *he* should have had the big state funeral!!

Couldn't believe this one-- he was not an old man.  A fantastic
musician, I was lucky to hear him conduct at the Metropolitan Opera a
couple of times.

Maybe he's just getting 2004 out of his system. :-)

If that isn't a private opinion could we all join in?  MLB

I definitely think he was getting 2004 out of his system.  What an armpit of
a year it was. I sure hope 2005 goes better!

I'll second that! Here's hoping that 2005 sees us all (human, feline,
and otherwise) much healthier, happier, and prosperous.

Me three!  Healthier, happier, more prosperous and (for me, at least) much
*calmer*.
