2005 is now here in Sacramento, to the accompaniment of MUCH rain,
thunder, and fireworks [HOW anyone's getting fireworks to work in this
downpour, I have no clue].

Prayers, purrs, coos, etc., for 2005 to be MUCH better than 2004 was.
I am SO glad 2004 is over with!

The ones I've seen were lighting them in their garage and then running
outside.  Don't be surprised by fires.

At least it's wet enough around here to help keep them from going out
of control.

Here in Houston it was so foggy you couldn't see your hand in front of your
face much less fireworks in the sky - but did that stop people from wasing
*thousands* of dollars shooting off the noisy things???

I was trying to sleep last night, the fireworks woke me up. Ah, well. That's
kinda spooky. Glad I don't live in a war zone.

I'll never forget New Year's Eve 1994. Our upstairs bedroom faced the street,
and some kids were out popping fireworks and banging lids together. It went on
and on. We tried to be tolerant, given the holiday and all. Then we pondered
calling the police because we could not sleep. Finally my husband threw on his
robe and stomped downstairs to put an end to it personally.
Turns out it was our kids.
