OK, on my vet's advice (after they did a geriactric work-up on Bandit and
found she was "not concentrating her urine" as well as she should be), I
went out and bought canned food for my crew. I got the "Innova" and samples
of all the other premium brands, including Science Diet (which is what my
vet recommended) in every variety and flavor I could find.
The only cat who will even approach the bowl is Sammy (who I think would try
to eat *me* if I laid still enough!). The rest only want their dry food.
No matter what brand, no matter how stinky, no matter if it's warmed up, no
matter if it's laced with chicken broth or bits of meat - they will not
touch it.
Any advice?
Hugs,

Our cats are *very* picky about their canned food, but they wolf down
the kibble. The one brand/flavor they all seem to like just fine is
ProPlan chicken and rice and salmon and rice formulas. As a general
rule, they *hate* everything that is a paste. Unless it's the first time
they taste it, then they'll wolfe it down and make you go buy a case of
the stuff, only to ignore it next time you feed it. :(
They also like a product called solid gold blended tuna. What we do is
serve 2 cans of the stuff they like, plus 1 can of one brand they like
2nd best (Nutro California Chicken Supreme) and then 1 can of what I
call the "good stuff", i.e. the super premium stuff.
I just found a new (or new to me) frozen organic raw diet in my local
pet store. I bought a bag and I'm thawing two patties in the fridge as
we speak. I hope they like it, I would love to move them to a raw diet.

I'd give them what they'll eat. My vet seems to think dry food is better
than wet food, but when I've had cats who wouldn't eat, her main thing is,
I'd rather have them eat something than not eat at all.

When mine get their 'good stuff' (canned) I serve it up on those small
cheap paper plates. Everybody has his/her own fresh, disposable
plate, and it works out pretty well. Marley Anne however won't touch
canned food, no matter what brand.
I have to agree with Joy in that 'any' food that she'll (Bandit) will
eat is better than eating nothing.
Maybe Bandit will eat a little canned food if you offer it to her
first thing in the morning? How about in a separate little corner of
the house somewhere?
Good luck Catnipped. Keep us posted
