I think the cats are going to be ok in this new place...
There's cat hair on the couch, cat litter and kibble scattered on the
carpet, and Mischief threw up her breakfast....
oh yes, i think they will be fine...
*sigh* (breaks out the carpet cleaner)

LOL! (Sorry!) Yes, it looks as though they have settled in nicely.

The tough part is that the old place had blue carpet and this is
beige, so kitty vomit is going to be harder to spot. *sigh*

That is tough. OTOH, I used to feed mine Friskies, which is quite colorful.
There are red spots all over my beige carpet.

Actually, that's a good thing - it means the stains won't be so
visible, either. Get a pair of flip-flops!

A little update on how my kitties are settling into the new
apartment.
Mischief has discovered i get quite bit of sun through my balcony,
creating a nice sunny spot on the carpet. For the past two days i
have found her streeeeetched out on said spot, and she stays there for
most of the afternoon until the sun goes down.
When I come out of the bathroom after brushing my teeth, Mayhem is
sitting right in front of the bathroom door and meows her "Timmy is
stuck in the well" meow, indicating that there is something VERY
important for me to take care of. Usually she will then run to the
bed, jump up and roll on her back, meowing that she hasn't had a tummy
rub in HOURS and needs it NOW.
I caught Imp on the couch yesterday and as soon as I saw him, he got
all wide eyed "deer in the headlights" look, and slunk off the couch
and back into the bedroom, despite my reassurances that it was
perfectly ok for him to be on the couch.
I'm slowly recovering from being sick, and starting to tackle the many
boxes and bags and finding places for everything. It will take time,
but slowly i will turn this place into my own.
At least I don't have to worry about the cats, since its obvious that
THEY have claimed the place as theirs.

Moving and being sick are a rough combination to deal with. I'm glad, as
you say, that you don't have to worry about the cats. Now I hope you can
get stronger.
