The worst we've seen in Sacramento in weeks is dense fog and
temperatures near/below freezing at night.

Every time the fog gets like this I remember the winter my SIL sent my MIL
here for Thanksgiving.  We had so much fog that year that the airport was
closed most of December.  I didn't think I was ever going to get rid of her.

You call that snow?  Even in the UK we can do better than this. ;-p

Ah yes,  but snow in Houston is only a little more likely than snow in um...
a certain OTHER very warm place. <G> Enjoy the novelty, Houston!

I gave my furchildren an extra tall scratching post and a catnip mousie toy
for their Christmas treat.  Last night as I was wrapping gifts, I saw
Francesca lying on her back on the livingroom rug, embracing the mousie toy
in an advanced state of kitty bliss, drooling all over it. Then suddenly,
she sprang up and attacked the new scratching post in a frenzy of
exultation.  Pan was lying next to me on the couch, and I swear if he'd been
a human, he'd have been saying "tsk tsk!" at such an adolescent display. =o)
Nina definitely approves of the new toys, too.

Awww, Nipped, it's purty.  And I promise you it's not a fraction as
much of a PITA as it is up here. ;)

I'm impressed.  We usually get about that amount once or twice a year.
Our banner year since we moved here in 1997 was the winter of 99-2000,
where we got 18 inches of snow and the schools were closed for 8 days.
Rob was having banner snows in Korea as well, so we had a lot to talk about.

True its been snowing slowly, but steadily since AM in my North of Boston
locale. Now that Christmas is gone its white out.

We ended up with around 12inches.
