I'm afraid it's bulk Purr time.

I just swapped out the drives on my PC and decided to upgrade to XP at the
same time. Unfortunately Outlook insists on confusing my Mail & News
accounts. The only simple solution was to kill my groups and set them up
again. :( So I'll be doing a "Catch Up" on my 98K+ new messages.

Can't you do a "mark as read" up to a certain date, thus substantially
reducing the amount of posts you'd be catching up with??
