Frozen pipes

When I tried to use the water this morning, there was nothing there. I
thawed a section of pipe that I believed was sufficiently insulated (burned
my hand in the process), and it
has a huge leak. So much for my new plumbing, and it's back to hauling water
from Gloria's well all winter long! Guess I didn't already have enough of a
headache....

Pat, that bites!  I wish there was something I could do.  Sending purrs and
birdy chirps your way.

I wish I could do more than send purrs.

{{{Pat}}} That stinks.  All I can do is send purrs your way that
things get better for you, and soon!

I've had frozen pipes here.  First of all my plan was to thaw it with a blow
lamp.  Which worked, sort of, but I got a burst like you.  After that I
thawed the pipes with a hairdryer, takes for ever but didn't have a burst
pipe.
Hoping you can get your plumbing repaired and don't have to haul water from
the well all winter.
(hugs) to Pat
It isn't as if you didn't have enough to put up with, without that.

Reminds me of a time when I was a teenager.  My mother was trying to thaw
a frozen pipe with a candle -- she  set her sweater on fire.  Fortunately
she got it off fast and only singed her hair and eyebrows and a minor burn
on face and hands.    Purrs for your wellbeing.    MLB

Many thanks.... I only burned my hand with hot water. I have it all fixed
now except the tub. Still trying to bring up the courage to tackle that one!

Where are you? Havn't you got some friends who are good with plumbing and
can help you out?

I spent the morning rebuilding a toilet (no sh.t!) for a couple friends of
mine. Mom and daughter are both working, and the daughter's husband is
handicapped, and can't work. I charged them two hugs, she did tip me ten
bucks, which covered my gas. They bought the parts.

I know.... I'm too nice, and let folsk off too easy. Baha can vouch for
that.

I'm in south central Missouri. I'll be able to repair the pipe myself when
we get a warm enough day for the glue to set right.

Kittens!!  A lovely surprise this morning,  Annabell,  a blue oriental long
hair had her kittens early this morning!!  She had just had the last one
when I came in.  There are 6,  3 pointed ones, and 3 Orientals.  The colours
of the pointed ones remain a mystery for weeks,  but the Orientals are born
the colour they remain,  2 blues and 1 lilac.  I have not attempted to sex
them yet,   I don't want to disturb the mother,  she has not been a very
good mother in the past.  She has settled down with them,  all cuddled up
with her,  purring away,  lets hope for the best.  Purrs for the kittens
please,  that she will take care of them this time. She will be spayed if
she fails to be a good mother with this litter.

Purrs that her strong mothering instincts come to the fore and that she
takes good care of them.  Unless there is something wrong, cats are usually
the best mothers in the animal kingdom.
