I'm sure every catslave has their own name for this. I call it flomping.
At first, flomping was just that thing when cats throw themselves down,
as if their legs suddenly gave way. A cat would look at me then fall
over on their side, and I would say, 'flomp.'
Now flomping has exstended to when the cat does not just lie there, but
contorts itself into a dozen different positions while looking coyly at
you. Both of mine do this all the time.
Caliban demonstrated a prolonged flomping session last night when I was
watching TV. He jumped into my desk chair and went *flomp* on his side.
Then he rolled around and did his one-back-leg kick, got up, threw a
look at me, then flomped down again for another rolling sesion. Then I
saw him peeking at me from around the arm rest. Then another session of
throwing himself around the chair, then he peeked over the top of the
arm rest at me with wackadoodle eyes. And so on, and so on. He had me in
stitches.
Miranda had a flomping session on the top level of the cat tree. She
went *flomp* and then rolled around. Then she hung her head over the
edge and looked at me upside down. Then she rolled around some more,
then hung her head over the edge again for an upside-down look at me.
And so on and so on.
That's flomping. Great fun to watch.

I know what that is, though I call it the kitty flop
mischief does it when she jumps onto my desk and flops in front of the
monitor, knocking over anything in her path.
She'll also do it when I'm sleeping and she wants attention, She
usually aims so either her butt or her tail hits me right in the face
when she flops.
Mayhem also flops, usually when she's begging for attention. She'll
flop on her side, trying to show me how pretty she is, and then rolls
onto her back to show her gorgeous belly.
Imp doesn't flop too much, unless I'm petting him and scritchin him in
JUST the right spot.
They also are all flopped in various spots in the living room cause
its so hot

Biskit does this! And to make it even more comical, as she drops
herself on the floor, there's
an audible "oof" sound, like she's knocked the wind out of herself.
She looks at me, and I'm
supposed to say, "OOOHHHHHH BIKKIE"S CUUUTE"....then she rolls and
twists and rolls.
She then comes over and rubs my leg, and I say, "Show me your pretty
leg, Bikkie". And she
stretches and sticks her backleg straight out almost vertical.
It makes a nice parlor trick, but the truth is, she started stretching
her leg out long before I
started "commanding" her to do it! (That's the secret to cat tricks, I
think--learn what they're
going to do anyway, then command them to do it!)

That sounds so cute. Heh, I could start saying, 'show me your butt' when
Caliban starts to stretch, because I know he will be showing off his
behind proudly. He turns up his tail along his back and turns his butt
up towards the ceiling while stretching his front paws along the floor.

Aww, like Stinky when I would say "Show me the belly!"

What a brilliant word!!! Dante does it, of course-- he does anything that's
ridiculous. Just today, he was doing the full-body stretch with 360-degree
rollover, all accompanied by a steady "How do you like me now??" look at me.

I call it the Shoulder Roll. Got a good if blurry view of Francesca'
spotty tummy on camera last year when she had a long Flomp session on
the sunny livingroom carpet. She must have been feeling pretty good!
Cats are so adorable when they do this.

Roxy does this - she ends up on her side, but a bit twisted so that her
front half is partially on her back. Then she curls her front paws up and
cocks her head coyly, and lies there waiting to be petted and worshipped.
I call this the "fetching" position:

The curled paws, especially, just look so calculated. :)

That's redonkukous! ;) I love that position. I call that the "mermaid"
position.

"Redonkukous flomping" - we're going to need an English-to-RPCA
dictionary soon.

I know. Mir does the curled paws, too. It looks too precious.

We call it "Plop-the-Kitty" and it's at its best when Stosh, Brandy,
or especially Philip do it, as Philip is the laziest of the clowder.
As soon as one goes down, Louie and I would say "Plop the kitty!" and
rush to offer pettings and servitude.
"Plump the kitty" is similar; we describe it as the sound one of our
chunkier cats makes jumping on the bed. Roxie is too elegant to plop
or plump, Sabrina too light, and China so exuberant she bursts, not
plops.
Blessed be,
Baha

We call it plopping, but I like your term better. Begging cats are known as
carpet sharks around here.

Willow does this and, when she is in her fish tank, it is priceless. It is
accompanied by the sounds of her landing on the glass and, it she does a
particularly hard "flomp" she goes into attack mode to see where the noise
is coming from!
