Whole new meaning to "Meowmie"

My daughter Catherine (days away from 16 months), says Dada pretty
clearly, and a number of "b" words, such as ball, baby, bubble and bear.
She also says Mama, or so I thought.  Tonight, as we were playing, I
heard her say mama, and looked up to say "Yes sweetheart?" and noticed
that she was not looking at me, but at Pippin, who was hiding in a box.
She was saying "meow meow", which means cat, I suppose.  She did it
several times this evening, always in the context of a real or toy cat.

So either I'm a cat too, or I just have to wait to hear Mommy.

Cheers

Awwww. It just means you've instilled priorities in her :)

As long as she doen't call the cat Mommy. ;)

At two weeks shy of two years old, I'm still waiting for little Froggie
to call me Mama.  She's been saying Daddy for ages, but she addresses me
as "gnnuuurrghhh".

But her very first intelligible word before she was even a year old, was
"cat".  Honest.

Well, you know, when you can beam things straight into their head, it really
makes a difference ;)

My fourteen month old nephew is very articulate.  My brother boasts
that he says fifty words, but I'm afraid a lot of them are "Baaa" and
"Moo."  ;)  He calls both his parents Dada.  He knows he's not
supposed to touch the stereo cabinet, so he goes up to it, and says
"No!"  ;)    He's started pinching his parents, and they yell "OUCH"
when he does it.  So now he pinches them and yells "OUCH!" himself. ;)

Same with my son.  His first word was "cat" (pronounced "Khah! Khah!").
