When I was going to be gone from home so long, I arranged for boarding
Killer and Chaos with their v*t. Three days after they were in there, she
came in and found he passed on in his sleep. After examination, she decided
he had a weak heart (with absolutely NO previous indication) and the stress
of "boarding" was just too much.
TIA for any purrs, but the important thing I want to get across is that
everyone should have physicals done on their cats - if not annually, then at
least when their situation is going to drastically change.
After returning home, Chaos spent a week searching for him, wanting him to
come out and play-fight.

I am so sorry about Killer.  How old was he?  The heart condition was
something you could have never known about and that Killer passed in his
sleep is something that is hard to accept but know that he didn't suffer.

Thank you the wise words too.

Between 10 and 15 - I was his second "owner".

A very good point about checking a pet's health before putting them in
stressful situations.  Not something I would have thought to do.  But you
couldn't have known, and even a thorough physical might not have shown his
problem.

Purrs to you and Chaos, and of course to Killer.

Oh my,

Purrs for you and Chaos..

I've never had that happen at our clinic.  But there was one clinic I
worked at where the dog the techs were doing x-rays on went into
cardiac arrest.  They shot the x-ray  but when they let of the animal's
legs he was limp.  That was a freaky day.  But the dog was old, and had
heart problems, so the vet figured stress was an issue.

Of course it's recommended that all animals get physicals periodically,
especially when they get older.

That's so sad :(  Heart problems are just so hard to detect. I'm so so sorry
to hear this on top of all your other troubles. Purrs to you both.

Duke, you've been through way too much these last four months or so.
Purrs and healing thoughts for you and for Chaos.  Please think about

I am so sorry you didn't get to say goodbye to Killer. But at least
you can rest easy that he didn't suffer. But still, it was much too
soon and sudden. Purrs for you and especially for Chaos, who doesn't
understand. Give him cuddles from me, please. Purrs,

Dear friend,

I am so sorry to hear of this, and so close to the holidays too! But I'm sure he
went to the Bridge knowing he was greatly loved, for I've heard of Killer and
Chaos on other posts. And thanks for words of much wisdom. Purrs and prayers for
you and Chaos, for healing and peace.

Blessed be,
Baha
