Well, after two months with no i-net access and several weeks trying to
figger out WHY the fershlugginer new puter wouldn't connect, I'm finally
on-line.
I've recently heard about how you all reacted to my disappearance/loss. The
word "overwhelmed" is insufficient, dear hearts.
I honestly didn't think anyone would notice (more than "Gee, whatever
happened to him? Oh well.") my absence from the scene! The past few years
have been so emotionally painful to me, I was thoroughly convinced of my
insignificance. To have so many people ekshully CARE ... well, I have to
admit that it makes me tear up even right now.
There were entirely too many stored messages for me to scan what's been
going on in the groups. I was forced to simply "catch up" all of them, so if
there's something you think I really should know from them, please email me.
I won't be on-line a helluva lot for the next month or so, as I am having to
move. But I promise to access things as much as I can.
I would like to send a personal letter of thanks to each and every one of
you who "organized" the "track-down campaign, but there are just SO MANY of
you... Please understand that I am giving thanks in my prayers for you ALL.

Welcome home! I am a little teary myself, after finding out what
happened to you and all the good people who tracked you down.
And now a lot of us are starting a "guardian" thing, exchanging
phones, addies, etc to guard against something like this happening
again. Sometimes someone goes off for computer troubles or they get
too busy with life. But you never know if someone living alone has
fallen and can't get help or had a stroke or something. The people on
this group are very good, caring people and we have heard that a
couple of your other groups are also like this.
As for you being insignificant; that is wrong! You are a valuable
member of this great, caring newsgroup family, and don't you forget
it! And how are your furmasters? Write when you can; but after you are
moved and settled, you can write the epic of your great diasppearance
and all the exciting details! ;-) Purrs,

Ah - the steady, calm, reasonable, humane voice of a "British Army
Colonel" - a man of honour, a leader able to inspire those around him
to follow him into battle, a gentleman schooled to deliver refined,
thoughtful briefings at the highest level, a man who takes pride in
representing his country and himself, and who maintains himself in
fighting-fit physical trim at all time:-

>Hi, Suzie - nice to see that you're still around.
I've been poking Paterson by pointing out that lists of military
officer are actually now online. For example:
http://www.rnreference.mod.uk/navylist/navy_list04.pdf
Kind of leads you to wonder about all those evasive answers saying
that such information is restricted for "security reasons". Kind of
looks like somebody isn't telling the whole truth....
