Had enough of this @#%*!!! phone!

On Monday morning, Louie and I both came down with the stomach flu of
pure evil. I'm talking the kind where we're fighting over the bathroom,
and I don't mean for a nice relaxing dip in the tub. My symptoms
subsided enough for me to return to work yesterday, but the nasty little
bug hung around Louie and he had to stay home. And what does he get?
Calls, calls galore. The mortgage people reminding him it's the 15th,
and would he like to do a check by phone now? The Buffalo Bills, trying
to get him to take season tickets for next year. God alone knew how many
charities, or people pretending to be charities. After about ten of
these, Louie slammed the receiver down and cussed the air blue. Called
the phone everything but a green piece of plastic and howled that the
Amish have the right idea after all.

Now our babies have been good little soldiers throughout all this,
keeping up a sort of guard duty by the bedroom door with Brandy acting
as Morale Officer, crawling all over us and purring and licking us.
Stosh was pulling the watch at this point. Louie told me he watched our
little Juvie walk right up to the wall and pull the phone cord right out
of the jack! If we can train him to do it when the Mutha-in-law calls,
we'd be onto something.

Blessed be,
Baha

That is so cute.  Molly might disconnect the phone, but it would be by
biting the cord in half.

Charlie was so upset to learn when he retired that the phone rings all day
and people we don't know come to the door.

Thanks to God for the do not call list.  And for caller ID.

It's so annoying when people call to remind you what day of the month it is.
Yesterday I made an online payment to my credit card - I was 2 days late
making the payment because I had to wait for a deposit to clear.  Not an
hour later the credit card company calls to tell me what day it is.  I just
paid you folks.  Oh!  Okay, I see it.  Would you like to schedule your
payment for January by phone check NOW?  I don't know how many times I have
to tell them I'm not working and they *are* getting paid. (sigh)

Hahahaha!  That's funny about the phone cord.  I'm sorry you have both been
ill.  I deal with that regularly due to my IBS.

Purrs you both feel better soon!

Sounds like caller ID would be a good thing in your household =)

Or, second tactic, never answer the phone.  If it's important, they'll leave a
message and you can call them back.

Me, I have a cellphone, and I rarely remember to have it in hearing range ...
that works well, too =P  It's actually much easier to get in touch with me via
email than by phone.
