Being a bit north of you (MO), we got the cold a few days earlier. I
was petting Mudpie in the dark - one hand on his head and one stroking
him: blue sparks jumped from both hands at the end of each stroke.
Mudpie got tired of being shocked and left the session early. I felt
much milder shocks when petting several of the other cats.

Little Mimi used to like to get under the blankets, and at night,
sometimes when she emerged out from under a wool blanket, I would see
sparks. I wondered if having a cat in bed could be as dangerous as
smoking? ;)

Yep, Persia is getting shocked, usually on her ears. I brushed her the
other night and while that didn't shock her, her fur is definitely taking on
that "bed hair" look.
