Pam S's recent mention of the Duke of URL made me start thinking about
other posters who we haven't heard from lately. Of course, the nature
of usenet is that sometimes posters drift away, and sometimes we never
hear what happened to them. OTOH, the last I recall hearing from
meowsays (Crackles meowmie who also posted under Peacock IIRC) was
that she was hunkering down for a second hurricaine, after her house
had lost shingles from a precious 'caine. I popped over to the yahoo
catslaves group, and sure enough found this update - posted Friday.
Sounds like she could use some purrs, though I don't know if she has
regular access and will be able to read them.

"Thought i'd drop a note to tell you guys I'm still around. We still
don't have a place to live, just staying with friends at the moment.
Fema says there might be a mobile home available for us to live in
maybe sometime before christmas. So keep your fingers crossed for me
so we get the mobile home. We still don't have any shingles on the
house tho they have been ordered. We knocked the moldy drywall out
already. Today we stripped the floor of the lenoilium(sp?). Scat is
going nuts being limited to only one room at the friends we are
staying and has gained weight because she is eating out of boredom.
The outdoor strays are doing well. Purrs for all. peace, meow"
